The Presidential Medal is the highest civic honor in the United States. Devin Nunes, 47, a senior member of the House Intelligence Committee, was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President Trump on Monday (Jan. 4) for his work to uncover the truth about the origins of Russiagate. The Presidential Medal of Freedom. Other members of the intelligence community were on hand to congratulate him on the award.

Nunes has been vocal about the Russia investigation by special counsel Robert Mueller. On “Fox & Friends” in 2018, Trump mentioned giving Nunes a top civilian honor in the military.

Trump said at the time, “If the facts are what everybody wants them to be, Nunes should get the Medal of Honor.” “For all he’s been through and for his bravery, he deserves a very important medal …… maybe we call it the ‘Medal of Freedom’ because we actually award them. They are the top prize for citizens and he did a great job.”

Nunes revealed that the “pee dossier” that falsely claimed a widespread, long-standing conspiracy between Trump and members of his campaign and Russia was actually the work of the Hillary Clinton campaign as well as the Democratic National Committee (DNC).

This discovery, along with his investigation into allegations of collusion by the Democratic Party, ultimately led to the collusion scam and the disgrace of leading supporters of the Russia investigation, including Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA).

Nunes also played an important role in the revelations of the investigation into Trump campaign aides and in fighting the Democrats’ impeachment of Trump. He delivered a fiery opening statement at the House impeachment hearings.

Benny Johnson (D-Calif.) tweeted, “This opening statement from Nunes for the impeachment hearings is a must-hear.” He added, “Democrats are acting like a ‘freakin’ cult.’ Democrats say they ‘don’t know the whistle blower,’ but then ask you not to say his name. Democrats also want to fulfill their ‘Watergate’ fantasy. Sick.”

Throughout the Russia collusion and impeachment investigations, Nunes has been pounded by Democrats, Never Trump supporters and members of the media. The Progressives filed an ethics complaint against him, temporarily calling him chairman, and it wasn’t until later that Nunes was cleared of all allegations of misconduct.

Ohio’s Jim Jordan is expected to receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom at a separate ceremony later next week, according to another person familiar with the matter. Jordan told the Sunday Morning Outlook that he will also make an effort in the House of Representatives to oppose the outcome of the Jan. 6 presidential election.

Trump has previously awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom to wrestling icon Dan Gable, legendary college football coach Lou Holtz, former Kansas Republican Rep. Jim Ryun and retired four-star Army Gen. Jack Keane, among others.
