Local voters pray as Vice President Pence goes to campaign in the state of Joe on Jan. 4.
Days before the Georgia Senate runoff, hundreds of voters gathered outside the Georgia State Capitol in Atlanta on Saturday (Jan. 2) for a march, rally and prayer.
March organizers Georgia Prayer March said they prayed for the outcome of the Georgia Senate race to “demonstrate biblical values.
The march claimed to be nonpartisan, but its organizers’ website indicated that they espoused conservative values such as “the sanctity of marriage between one man and one woman, a biblically based free-market system, and support for Israel.
The website says, “We don’t ask people to vote for anyone, that’s your decision. But we pray that Georgians will elect candidates who are consistent with biblical values. We pray that our state follows biblical values.”
According to local media outlet Atlanta Charter, several speakers at the march urged voters to vote for incumbent Republican Sen. Several speakers at the march urged voters to vote for incumbent Republican Senators David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler. Several speakers at the march urged voters to vote for incumbent Republican Senators David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler, and questioned the fraudulent presidential election.
On Tuesday (Jan. 5), Perdue and Loeffler will meet with Democratic challenger Jon Ossoff. On Tuesday (January 5), Perdue and Loeffler will meet with Democratic challengers Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock. On January 4, both President Trump and Joe Biden, the popular party’s presidential nominee, will be in the state of Joe to campaign.
Jim Garlow, an evangelical pastor and organizer of the prayer event, said, “What happens on Tuesday will determine the fate of our republic.”
Other speakers included Alma Rivera, Robert Weinger and Bishop Wellington Boone, according to a report by WXIA-TV in Atlanta.
An unprecedented number of more than 3 million voters have cast ballots in the state during the early voting period, which ended last Friday, and a total of approximately 5 million Georgia voters cast ballots in the presidential election.
On Friday (Jan. 1), President Trump said Georgia Secretary of State Brad L. Raffensperger (D-Ga.), the state’s top voter, had voted in the presidential election. On Friday (Jan. 1), President Trump said Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger had unconstitutionally relaxed the state’s absentee ballot signature verification regulations, making the state’s Nov. 3 election and Jan. 5 Senate runoff “illegal and invalid.
In a tweet, President Trump wrote, “There is massive corruption in the 2020 election, with far more votes (involved) than we need to win all the swing states (just three of them would be enough). But before we get to that, it’s important to note that the massive and hasty changes to voting procedures, rules and regulations prior to the election were not made by the state legislature. Therefore, the entire state election was illegal or unconstitutional.”
President Trump added, “In addition, Joe State’s consent decree is unconstitutional, so the state’s 2020 presidential election is also illegal and invalid, and that includes the two rounds of Senate runoffs currently (taking place). And in Wisconsin, voters (absentee ballots) are not required to apply, which also makes the election invalid. All this, and not even discussing the millions of fraudulent votes that have been cast or tampered with!”
