A study by the Chinese Communist Party’s public health department has made a rare admission that the actual size of the New Crown Pneumonia (CCP virus, Wuhan pneumonia) outbreak in Wuhan earlier this year may be nearly 10 times the number of recorded infections. This confirms that the Chinese Communist authorities have been underreporting the outbreak, but the real numbers remain a mystery.
According to Bloomberg, a survey released Monday (28) by the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention showed that after testing 34,000 people in the community for serum antibodies to the new coronavirus in April, the rate of positive antibodies to new coronavirus in the community in Wuhan was 4.43 percent. That is, neo-crown-specific antibodies were detected in these individuals, indicating possible previous infection with neo-crown virus (CCPV, Wuhan pneumonia).
This rate suggests that Wuhan, with a population of about 11 million, may have as many as 500,000 people infected with Neocon (CCP, Wuhan pneumonia); this is about 10 times the 50,000 confirmed cases reported locally by health authorities in mid-April.
The survey found a much lower rate of antibody positivity outside of Wuhan.
This means that even Wuhan, the city with the worst outbreak in China, is still vulnerable to a resurgence of the disease, the report said. This is because in the opinion of epidemiologists, at least half of the population needs to be exposed to the virus to reach the minimum threshold for herd immunity.
Bloomberg notes that the Chinese Communist Party has been criticized internationally for its poor initial handling of the outbreak that led to the global spread of the virus. The U.S. has also raised questions about the statistics of confirmed diagnoses in Wuhan, and with the massive outbreak of the epidemic in Europe and the United States, suspicions that the CCP has falsified data have increased.
The CCP has previously taken the initiative to adjust confirmed as well as death figures, and on April 1, the CCP’s Health Care Commission began announcing cases of asymptomatic new coronary pneumonia (CCP virus, Wuhan pneumonia). The first announcement of new cases of asymptomatic New Coronary Pneumonia (CCP virus, Wuhan pneumonia) was 130 cases. These 130 cases were not counted in the statistics of confirmed cases.
On April 17 of this year, Wuhan officials suddenly issued a notice revising the number of confirmed cases and deaths from the local CCP virus, with 325 more cases confirmed after the revision; the originally announced number of 2,579 deaths was revised to 3,869, or 1,290 more deaths.
Various parties have questioned this data and the official revision of the data at this time. It is believed that the Chinese Communist Party was forced to revise the death toll due to domestic and international pressure.
Li Linyi, an analyst on China, said that the Chinese Communist Party has been releasing the real number of infected people little by little. Initially, the number was surprisingly low, but later it said the number was corrected and increased a bit. Now it seems that the number of people infected with the disease overseas is higher, so the CCP also released some more figures. Only the Chinese Communist Party itself knows the final true figures.
In March, the peak of the epidemic in Wuhan, the “China Human Rights and Democracy Information Center” in Hong Kong revealed on the 23rd of that month that the CCP was falsifying the data on cases of the virus on a national scale. Many places do not send suspected patients to doctors, but simply quarantine them in certain places and let them “recover” or “die of natural causes” and then notify local police stations to bury their bodies in the mountains.
According to an April 21 article in the French weekly “Le Point”, data on infections and deaths in China have also been heavily censored. Official Chinese statistics only include coronary pneumonia cases that die in hospitals, not those that die at home. Yet these deaths account for one-third of the newly revised statistics. Moreover, according to the official statistics, patients must die of coronary pneumonia alone to be counted, and if they have other illnesses, they are not counted if they eventually die of a comorbidity.
In May of this year, Xintian, the host of our “Into the U.S.” video program, presented a major interview with Dr. Wang Weiluo, an independent intellectual living in Germany. Dr. Wang concluded from an analysis of data from the Communist Party’s “Direct Infection Reporting System” that the statistics from the “Direct Infection Reporting System” alone are 25 times greater than the official number of cases released by the Communist Party.
A confidential report submitted to the White House by the U.S. intelligence community also shows that the CCP is underreporting the total number of cases of the virus and the number of deaths from the virus in China.
