Former Zhejiang secretary brother Che Jianjun suddenly stepped down from his post or implicate the big tiger

Che Jianjun, deputy director of the Supervision and Justice Work Committee of the Standing Committee of the Anhui Provincial People’s Congress, stepped down from his post on Dec. 24, perhaps confirming rumors of his earlier fall from power. Che Jianjun is said to be the younger brother of Che Jun, the former secretary of the CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee. There is a lot of concern about whether his fall will lead to Che Jun.

The official media said that the 23rd meeting of the Standing Committee of the 13th CPC Anhui Provincial People’s Congress held on December 24 passed a number of personnel appointments and removals, among which Che Jianjun.

In September, Hong Kong media outlet Sing Tao Daily quoted sources as saying that Che Jianjun, a powerful figure in Anhui’s political circles, had fallen from power in late July, and that his older brother, Che Jun, had just stepped down as secretary of the Communist Party of Zhejiang Province on Sept. 1.

Public information shows that Che Jianjun, 58, has served in the discipline inspection system in Anhui province for a long time since December 1990, holding positions such as discipline inspector of the provincial discipline inspection commission, director of the second discipline inspection office, member of the standing committee of the provincial discipline inspection commission and secretary general of the provincial discipline inspection commission, before being promoted to deputy secretary of the provincial discipline inspection commission in 2011.

Che became deputy secretary of the Political and Legal Committee of the Anhui Provincial Party Committee and director of the provincial Office for the Prevention and Handling of Cult Issues at the end of 2016, and also served as deputy head of the provincial Leading Group for the Special Struggle against Blackness and Evil.

However, on July 1 this year, Che suddenly became deputy director of the Anhui Provincial People’s Congress Standing Committee on Supervision and Justice, and was removed from his post less than six months later.

As for Che Jun, he also comes from Anhui’s political and legal system, having served as vice president of the Communist Party’s Hefei Intermediate Court, deputy director of the city’s Public Security Bureau, director of the city’s Public Security Bureau, and later as mayor and secretary of Hefei.

Che Jun later served as secretary of the Shijiazhuang Municipal Party Committee in Hebei Province and political commissar of the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, before being transferred to the governorship of Zhejiang Province in 2016 and promoted to secretary of the provincial party committee the next year. On September 1 this year, 65-year-old Che Jun stepped down as secretary of the Zhejiang Provincial Party Committee, succeeded by the former governor Yuan Jiajun. on October 17, Che Jun was appointed deputy director of the monitoring and judicial committee of the National People’s Congress.

If Che Jianjun falls, will be associated with Che Jun, much attention.

According to some media, Che Jun’s career path is linked to former CCP Political and Legal Committee Secretary Zhou Yongkang and Jiang Zemin’s close family member Hui Liangyu – he became vice president of the CCP’s Hefei Intermediate Court during Hui’s tenure as CCP Anhui Provincial Party Secretary, and joined the CCP’s Anhui Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee in 2001, becoming a deputy provincial level at the age of 46; he also worked with then CCP Xinjiang Regional Party Secretary Zhang Chunxian in Xinjiang for five years.
