More than two weeks after the election, Mr Trump is still holding out, declaring on Twitter that he “won” and using a variety of legal tactics to try to salvage his defeat.

Rudy Giuliani, a key member of the Trump campaign, is trump’s personal lawyer and former mayor of New York City, although he has no official role in the White House. But now he is the first forward in the Trump camp.

This moderate stance has won Mr Giuliani support from many New York Democrats, but it has also left him open to criticism from many conservative Voters within the Republican party.
