How much will “fake news” miss Trump when he leaves?

The battle between Mr Trump and fake news has intensified rather than abated since the election. Trump attacked fake news and said biden won the election only in their eyes!

Trump breaks the rules

Wang, who has lived through Trump’s presidency, has learned from his experience in the past four years that Trump is really a blessing to the media. Because Not only is Trump a top streamer, but he has broken the White House’s “rules” for the press, and is far more transparent and accessible than his predecessors.

Just to give you a sense of how difficult the Obama presidency is for the media. During Obama’s eight years at the White House, the main channel of contact was the daily press conference. But compared with a packed press conference during the Trump era, Obama’s White House press team will be much quieter, often with empty seats, especially on Friday. At that time, the mainstream media in the United States would not broadcast the White House press conference live on TV news because the attention was too low.

Mr. Trump’s spokesman Sean Spicer filled the aisles at his press conference

And the reporter is going to ask Obama a question? Too hard! When Mr. Obama gives a press conference, he carries with him a list of reporters he will name. They’re basically acquaintances of major media outlets, and if you’re not on the list, it’s pretty much dead. That’s why non-mainstream reporters don’t bother raising their hands at Obama’s press conference, because Obama doesn’t improvise. (Of course, it happens once in a while.) Other than press conferences, access to Mr. Obama is limited.

When Trump took office, he broke too many White House rules and dealt with the media in basically any way he wanted. To sum up, there have been three big changes in the way we interact with the media during the Trump era.

First, Twitter is the official announcement. I remember when Trump first took office, reporters were very uncomfortable with the way he used Twitter to announce official news. Some reporters asked the White House spokesman whether the White House statement or Trump’s tweet was an official announcement. Trump quickly established twitter status, with all White House reporters setting ringtones for his tweets. So often happens in the middle of the night, mobile phones are bombed.

Mr Trump’s highest number of tweets was 200 a day, set on June 5. The Washington Post has also calculated that if it takes Trump a minute to send a tweet and a second to retweet one, it took him nine days, 17 hours and 36 minutes between his inauguration and May 2020 to tweet, much of it original.

The picture

For Wang, the two most memorable tweets were Trump’s firing of former Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and the timing of the U.S. -North Korea summit in Singapore. Because both times Xiao Wang was driving on the freeway! And then all of a sudden I get a call from the head office and I need to go live right away. The one where Mr Tillerson was fired, Mr Wang got off the motorway and parked his car on the main road. In North Korea, Xiao Wang didn’t have time to put on makeup before he was put on the shelf.

Second, press conferences should be held whenever and wherever possible. After Trump took office, the position of spokesman in the White House has been greatly reduced. To be honest, no one can represent Trump. Sean Spicer, the first White House spokesman, took no questions at his first news conference, the main purpose of which was to announce the largest turnout in history for Trump’s inauguration. That reduced Spicer’s credibility to zero. After leaving the White House, Spicer set his self free and took part in dancing with the Stars.

The second White House spokeswoman, Sarah Sanders, directly announced the cancellation of the daily White House press conference, leaving It to Mr. Trump to give his own. Grisham, the third White House speaker, has held zero press conferences in 281 days. In the absence of a White House press conference, reporters are actually even busier, as Trump speaks to them in person, in various forms, almost every day. So when the White House describes Trump as the most transparent president to the media in history, it’s really not blowing smoke.

Mr. Trump often communicates informally with reporters in one of three ways: on the South Lawn, in the Oval Office or in the Roosevelt conference room. Reporters from all three places asked Trump questions in one word: Roar! It has to be loud enough for Trump to hear it. When he is in a good mood, he can answer reporters’ questions for as long as ten or twenty minutes.

The picture

Of the three locations, the south Lawn was the most difficult to ask questions because Trump was passing through because he was leaving the White House on Marine One, or had just returned. The engine of Marine One roared right in the reporter’s ear, and when Trump spoke, it was impossible to hear him standing a little distance away. So when it was over, all the reporters hurried back to listen to the tape again. And as long as he can squeeze in front and speak loudly enough, Trump is almost always ready to answer questions.

The picture

But, of course, there is a place for reporters on the South Lawn. The first row must be filled by a sound engineer with a microphone pole. The second row is filled by journalists, and most mainstream American journalists get good seats ahead of time. The cameraman will have to stand at the end with a ladder.

The picture

In the Oval Office or the cabinet room, reporters who can get in are usually given a chance to ask questions. But only if it is accessible, because only reporters on duty or invited to the event will be allowed in. In Mr. Obama’s case, he typically did not take questions from reporters on the South Lawn or in the Oval Office. In Mr. Trump’s case, those rules have disappeared.

Why would Mr. Trump prefer such a question-and-answer session to a press conference in the White House briefing room? A big reason is that the three questions are “informal,” and because of the noise, reporters have to keep their questions short, leaving little room to press Mr. Trump. And the official cameras in none of the three locations would film reporters, only Trump. But if you’re in the White House briefing room, or if you’re in a formal press conference, the camera catches the reporter, and it becomes a stage for the reporter to show off. Trump has often complained that White House press conferences have become a “runway” for reporters.

Freestyle press conference

Third, Trump’s freestyle press conference. Although Trump does not like the daily press conference, he does hold a lot of press conferences, and every time he travels abroad, he will hold a press conference abroad, which also gives many foreign journalists the opportunity to communicate with him.

The most impressive one was the Singapore Summit on June 12, 2018. The press conference was held in a huge auditorium of the hotel, which was dark and could hold hundreds of people. Since the official bus was arranged to send reporters to the entrance, the front seats were full when Wang entered. At that time, wang didn’t think much about it, thinking that Trump would ask questions with a note just like Obama did. So I took a seat in the back.

As a result, Trump’s notes are a “blind spot” where he can ask questions of anyone he points to. Trump focused mostly on questions from reporters in the first two rows. After Trump’s blind spot, the press conference was almost over. At this moment, a scream came from the venue: How about South Korea! (What about South Korea!) Originally, the whole press conference did not talk about South Korea, also did not ask questions from South Korean journalists, so a South Korean girl burst! Trump was about to turn around and walk away. When he heard about South Korea, he was so excited! (Inner OS: Yeah, I haven’t thanked Korea yet.) So Trump asked, “Who yelled that?” The Korean girl stood up and managed to get one last chance to ask questions.

After the press conference, Wang reflected on:

Do I have to yell next time? How about China? However, it is a pity that Trump mentions China at every press conference. This is not a good move. After summing up his experience, Wang thought reporters would ask Trump about his “secret” : sitting in the front row. Trump has a better than 50-50 chance of being picked. And that “secret” was tested by Wang.

Mr Trump and “fake news” complement each other

Trump war at the White House “fake news” reporter’s story, from Chinese reporters Jiang Weijia CBS to CNN’s White House chief Acosta (Jim Acosta) (these reporters “glory” please stamp history articles ? let trump furious Chinese journalists how tough? They don’t understand Trump’s efforts.)

“Fake news” hates Trump as much as it loves him, and the two feed off each other. Jiang became a hero reporter after his numerous confrontations with Trump. After the COVID-19 exchange, Jiang became a twitter hashtag with the hashtag # Standwithwei Jiajiang for responding to Trump’s alleged racist remarks. Rep. Lieu (D., Calif.) took to twitter to criticize Trump for dividing the country. Asian-americans are also Americans, some serving in the military, some on the medical front, and some journalists like Jiang.

Acosta, CNN’s chief White House correspondent, has had so many fights with Trump that he’s made a fortune with a book called “Enemies of the People: The Dangerous Age of Telling the Truth in America.”

The picture

The next four years, of course, will not be lonely for Trump. Keeping the media in the spotlight will suit trump’s personality. So, sources say, Trump is already thinking about starting a new media outlet after he leaves office, either on television or as a social platform, in part to fight FOX, which has abandoned him.

In stark contrast to Trump, Biden has been so strict with the media since his campaign that he seems to have gone back to the Obama era overnight. Biden held only a handful of press conferences throughout the campaign and, like Obama, kept a short list. Even before taking office, the press began to complain that The Biden team had imposed too many restrictions on the press.

Believe that most of the Fake News who fall in love with Trump will miss Trump in 2021.
