China’s Qingdao City, Shandong Province, a recent outbreak of local outbreaks of neocoronavirus, 16 completed the city’s nucleic acid test, 10.89 million actually “all negative”; Taiwan’s Central Epidemic Command Center Commander Chen Shizhong this irony, so many tests but all negative, no “pseudo-negative, pseudo-positive! ” and snickered, “That’s really great, but how could it be?” There has been no official rebuttal from China so far.
According to the Free Times, the Chinese authorities released a news release saying that after the outbreak of cluster infections in a hospital in Qingdao on the 12th, a citywide screening program was immediately launched and announced its completion on the evening of the 16th, with a total of 10,899,145 nucleic acid samples, all of which were declared negative yesterday. Chen Shi-Zhong was invited to speak at the annual meeting of the National Taiwan Normal University’s Society for Public Health, where he explained the actions of the command center during this year’s outbreak. In his speech, Chen referred to the incident in which China tested more than 10 million people in Qingdao.
According to Chen, sarcastically, how is it possible that all 10 million people tested negative? We all know that there are bound to be false negatives and false positives in the test reagents, but what about the 10 million tests that all come back negative? “It’s a great thing too, but it’s not going to happen.”
