U.S. President Joe Biden and South Korean President Moon Jae-in met at the White House and issued a joint statement mentioning the importance of peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of China (ROC) said on May 22 that it will continue to work closely with the United States and other like-minded countries to defend the democratic system.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of China said that U.S. President Joe Biden and South Korean President Moon Jae-in held leadership talks on May 21, and the two sides and issued a joint statement after the meeting, stressing the importance of maintaining peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait.

Since taking office, the Biden administration has continued to demonstrate strong support for our country and the importance it attaches to peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait, and has repeatedly reaffirmed its adherence to the Taiwan Relations Act and the Six Assurances, emphasizing that the U.S. commitment to Taiwan is “rock-solid.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that the Government of the Republic of China will continue to work closely with the United States and other like-minded countries on the existing good foundation to defend democracy, shared values and a rules-based international order, and to jointly maintain peace, stability and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific region.
