U.S. Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden and his second son, Hunter Biden, have been in a series of scandals that may now also affect former U.S. President Bill Clinton and his wife, former U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, after U.S. media revealed that Hunter had profited from the Chinese company Huaxin Energy.
Fox News once reported that Hunter received money from the Chinese company Huaxin Energy, which went bankrupt in April this year, and that even Biden himself was involved, citing a May 2017 email from Hunter proposing to transfer 20% of a company’s shares to H, with 10% of the shares being held by H in the hands of the big guy.
The National Pulse reports today that the Biden family is not the first to profit from Watson Energy, as former President Bill Clinton and his wife, Hillary, have received donations of up to $100,000 (about $2.8 million) through the eponymous foundation.
The New York Times article from 2018, cited in the article, describes how Huaxin Energy President James Yeh was in contact with White House personnel, and mentions the meeting between Yeh and Biden, as well as Huaxin Energy’s intention to make a profit by bribing retired U.S. Navy Admiral Bobby Inman to facilitate the purchase of Syrian oil fields.
The article points out that even after such events, the Clintons did not refuse the donation from Inman, and Clinton Foundation records confirm that Mandarin Energy donated $50,000 to $100,000 to the Clinton Foundation in the third quarter of 2015.
The National Pulse report additionally cited a Wall Street Journal report that noted that donations to the foundation skyrocketed when Hillary ran for president in 2016, and that Watson Energy was mentioned as a patron of the foundation, in addition to some foreign companies.
