Vietnam epidemic rampant, Hon Hai refers to 2 plant shutdown

In response to media inquiries, Hon Hai said that some of the Group’s subsidiaries in the Beikuang region of Vietnam in line with the local government’s epidemic prevention policy, two plants have suspended operations since today, while strengthening epidemic prevention measures to the safety of employees as the highest principle. According to statistics, a total of 15 Taiwanese enterprises located in Bei Giang province are affected, with industries including materials, electronic technology, plastics and rubber.

Currently, more than 6,000 people in direct contact with confirmed cases are in isolation and quarantine in Beijang province, and the remaining number of people under medical surveillance is about 30,000. There are 6 industrial parks in Bei Giang province, with more than 240,000 workers. The industrial parks are located in residential areas and near national highways, posing a great threat to stop the spread of the virus.
