Hu Xijin, editor-in-chief of the Global Times, an official media in China, was reported to the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI) for having extramarital affairs with two female subordinates and for having two illegitimate children. The incident has attracted a lot of attention in mainland China.
The real name report was filed by Duan Jingtao, deputy editor-in-chief of the Global Times, who was reported to the CMC by the CMC website. Duan Jingtao, through the website of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI), accused Hu of violating life discipline, having a long-term sexual affair with former Global Times employee Zhang Nanyi and current employee Gao Ying, and having an illegitimate child with each of his daughters in 529 words.
The company has been accused of violating the rules of the game, and of having an illegitimate child with each of his two daughters.
He said that Duan Jingtao, who returned from a party school about three or four years ago, often claimed inside and outside the newspaper that he would soon leave and be replaced by Hu Xijin. On October 27 of this year, Duan Jingtao “negotiated” with himself, saying that the CCDI had received a report investigating him and asking Hu to “resign in exchange for peace. The next morning, Duan Jingtao apologized to Hu via WeChat, admitting that he was talking nonsense, “as if he was possessed. The first time I saw her, I thought that she was the one who should resign and be replaced by her, and I hoped that she would come to her senses. This was followed by today’s real-name report allegations.
