The 2021 World Health Assembly (WHA) will be held between May 24 and June 1, and the World Health Organization (WHO) has notified its members and other invited participants to complete online registration by May 10. Taiwan has not yet received an invitation letter to attend the WHA. Taiwan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said it will continue to work with the Ministry of Health and Welfare to fight until the last minute and do its best to fight for the right to attend.
Taiwan Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Ou Jiang’an said that he once again called on WHO Director General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus to uphold a professional and neutral stance and respond as quickly as possible to the international community’s voice of justice and the earnest expectation of all sectors to firmly support Taiwan’s participation by inviting Taiwan to attend the 74th WHA, which will be held on May 24.
