Tesla’s charging station
Tesla has been in trouble on the mainland, and in early May a Tesla owner in Guangzhou crashed into a concrete pillar in an underground parking lot, which mainland media said was suspected to be due to brake failure. Tesla subsequently released driving data showing that the owner did not apply the brakes at the time of the accident, but stepped on the gas pedal two seconds before the incident.
Mainland media recently reported that a Tesla in the parking lot of Huangpu Yuandi Central Plaza in Guangzhou on the afternoon of May 1 was suspected of brake failure and crashed into a concrete pillar, when the airbag did not pop out and the driver was sent to hospital for treatment.
The family claimed that the driver applied the brakes but the vehicle suddenly accelerated and crashed into a concrete pillar, and the family questioned why the airbag did not pop out.
In response to the incident, the official microblog of “Tesla Customer Support” said in a May 3 post that Tesla first cooperated with the relevant departments to retrieve the surveillance video and background traffic data of the underground parking lot.
The article describes the findings in detail. First of all, according to the surveillance video, when the vehicle entered the parking space, the high brake light was not on, and there was obvious acceleration.
Tesla said, combined with the background data, “before the collision, the brake pedal was not depressed action. About 2 seconds before the collision, the vehicle’s accelerator pedal was deeply depressed, while the vehicle speed rose rapidly and soon exceeded 18 km / h. Then the vehicle recorded the occurrence of the collision, the speed at the time of the collision did not exceed 20 km / h.”
The text said, according to the driver’s description: in slowing down into the parking space, at that time did not apply the brakes, the vehicle “suddenly accelerated” over the two parking space limit bar and continued forward. In a panic, the customer swerved to the right and collided with the parking pillar, and the trajectory description was consistent with the background data.
Below the above statement of Tesla, many netizens left messages. Netizen “Qi Tian Da Sheng” said: “Tesla recently really not easy.”
Netizen “LV_1138” said: “Every day around the country do not know how many traffic accidents covering almost all car electric car brands, only Tesla every accident will be on the hot search but also official notification, this is a black comedy?”
Netizen “low-key Wang Yong’s hut” said, “(owners) poor car skills is no problem, the problem is lying rogue.”
Not long ago in late April, Tesla just released the driving data for another “brake” incident, which also showed that the accident had nothing to do with the Tesla car. The owner of that accident entered the Shanghai Auto Show media day on April 19, standing on the Tesla and shouting “Tesla brakes are not working,” followed by widespread reports in the Communist Party’s official media that the Tesla had braking problems.
A few days later, on April 22, Tesla disclosed through the official microblog of China Market Regulation News the driving record of the car half an hour before the accident, showing that the owner was driving at a high speed of about one hundred kilometers per hour before the accident, and it was Tesla’s automatic braking system that caused the car to slow down greatly at the time of the accident.
After the incident, Tesla contacted the owner for the driving data, but did not receive a response. It was then disclosed that the owner was able to enter the venue at the Shanghai Auto Show media day by wearing a pass from another mainland electric car brand and taking an Azera car to the venue.
In February, Tesla China was jointly “interviewed” by five Chinese Communist Party departments. Some netizens quipped, “Tesla is ‘attracting the wind’.”
