Population experts again warn that China’s total population will soon experience negative growth

In comprehensive news, the signals of China’s demographic crisis are becoming more and more obvious, and population experts have been warning about it in recent times.

According to a recent interview, Dong Yuzheng, president of the Guangdong Institute of Population Development, said that China’s total population is likely to fall below the 10 million births per year mark during the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-2025); according to this trend, China’s total population will experience negative growth in just a few years.

Dong Yucheng suggested that the faster the better, the better, instead of liberalizing three children this year and four children next year, like squeezing toothpaste.

He also suggested that attention should be paid to supporting fertility policies so that young parents can raise more children. At the same time, education should be reformed to reduce extracurricular tuition and training and ease the burden on families.

It is worth noting that China will soon release the latest “decennial” census statistics. An article published last week on China’s central bank’s micro-signal pointed out that China’s demographic situation has reversed and that the population is declining faster than expected
