A person in Texas who had been fully vaccinated against the Chinese communist virus died after contracting the virus, according to Texas officials announced Friday (April 16).
Dallas County (TX) Judge Clay Jenkins revealed in a statement that one of the 15 reported deaths from the infection in the county had previously received two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, was immunocompromised and was an organ transplant patient.
Immunocompromised individuals, even after vaccination, remain vulnerable to this deadly virus,” Jenkins said. If you have a family member who is in a high-risk group, it’s critical that you get vaccinated and continue to avoid significant contact with the population so you can best protect them.”
Complete vaccination means completing 2 doses of a double-dose CCHV vaccine from Moderna or Pfizer, or 1 dose of a single-dose vaccine from Johnson & Johnson, and at least 2 weeks have passed since the vaccination.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) told The Epoch Times on Thursday (April 15) that about 5,800 Americans, after having been fully vaccinated against the CCP virus, have contracted the Chinese Communist virus. These figures are for cases as of April 13.
The federal health department declined to provide the relevant details for each state separately.
Of those who have contracted the CCP virus despite being fully vaccinated, 74 people have died.
But a CDC spokeswoman said the number is not surprising because there is no vaccine for the CCP virus that provides more than 95 percent effectiveness. As of April 15, more than 78 million people in the United States had been fully vaccinated against the CCP virus.
In an email, the spokesman said, “So far, no surprising patterns have been found in terms of demographics or vaccine characteristics.”
He said, “The CCP virus vaccine is effective and is a key tool in controlling the outbreak. All available vaccines have been shown to be effective in preventing serious illness, hospitalization and death. However, like other vaccines, we expect that even if the vaccine works as expected, there will still be thousands of cases of vaccine breakthrough infections.”
Dr. Rochelle Walensky, director of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), told members of Congress at a hearing in Washington this week that in some cases, these vaccine breakthrough infections are caused by a “failure of the host’s immune response.”
Other infections, she added, may stem from variants of the virus that are spreading.
We’re watching this closely,” she said. We’re contacting health officials in all states as well as hospitals to make sure that those who are identified as having breakthrough infections are indeed infected two weeks after the second injection, or two weeks after the last injection. That way, we can determine the number of breakthrough cases that are occurring.”
