Ford, GM and Other Multinational Michigan Companies Denounce State Senate Election Procedures Bill

The Breitbart News reported April 13 that Ford, General Motors and 30 other Michigan businesses are denouncing a voting integrity bill introduced in the Michigan Senate.

The companies issued a joint statement Tuesday criticizing measures in the state Senate’s 39-bill package that they say restrict voter turnout.

The bills include controls on absentee ballot applications and counting; improved training for election clerks; authorization for poll watchers to better observe election activity; and the fact that voters must show identification to obtain an absentee ballot and that the government would be prohibited from providing prepaid postage for ballot envelopes.

Michigan Senate Republican leaders argue that the legislation is not an effort to disenfranchise communities, but rather a bipartisan effort to strengthen voter integrity.
