Taiwan Railways Taroko derailment youngest victim was only 6 years old, many bodies sent to the funeral home

Taiwan Railway Taroko 408 derailment in Hualien County, Clearwater Tunnel, has resulted in 48 deaths and 159 injuries sent to the hospital, and the youngest known victim is Yang’s little sister, aged 6 years old.

Tzu Chi Hospital said that a total of 53 people were sent to the hospital, 104-year-old Yang’s little sister was not treated, and now 10 people are hospitalized and 2 people are operated on, respectively, about 12-year-old Yang’s little sister about 12 years old and 60-year-old Mr. Chen.

According to the Hualien County government statistics, 53 people from Tzu Chi Hospital, 36 people from Mennonite Hospital, 34 people from Hualien Hospital and 27 people from National Army Hualien Hospital, a total of 150 people. There were 5 people from the North Wing Su-ao Branch Hospital and 4 people from the Boai Hospital, for a total of 9 people.

Hualien County Government said that as of 5:02 p.m., the updated number of sheltered train passengers is 227 people, 5 to 8 cars are still in search and rescue. There are more than 10 bodies sent to the funeral home.

Hualien City Hall said the Hualien Funeral Home has 45 freezers and more than 50 body bags, if not enough to continue to seek from the industry.
