On Feb. 4 at 7:30 p.m., outside a small restaurant at Eighth and Hill streets in downtown Los Angeles, a customer or passerby stood looking at his cell phone with a pair of fancy striped bags on his shoulder. At that moment two black teenagers came from the side of the sidewalk, and the young man in red, who was walking in front, suddenly swung his fist and knocked down the customer, robbing him of his cell phone and backpack, among other items.

In order to protect the privacy of the guests, the victim’s head and upper body were mosaicked to make it impossible to see ethnicity, age, etc. Because of the suddenness of the incident, several guests or passersby around looked at each other and did not know what to do. The suspect is described as a black male between 17-20 years old, 6 feet tall and weighing 150 pounds, while suspect #2 is described as a black male between 15-18 years old, 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing 150 pounds. Citizens with any pertinent information are asked to call the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), Midtown Division, Detective 213-996-1875.
