General Flynn’s family sues CNN for defamation, seeks $75 million

Two Family members of former President Donald Trump‘s first national security adviser, General Michael Flynn, recently sued CNN and are seeking $75 million. They say CNN’s coverage linking them to the far-right QAnon conspiracy theory movement has constituted defamation. The lawsuit has now been filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.

The two plaintiffs are General Flynn’s brother, John Flynn, and sister-in-law, Leslie Flynn. The lawsuit alleges that CNN “falsely accused them both of being followers and supporters of QAnon” in a video report on Feb. 4 of this year.

In early February, CNN aired a video titled “CNN Goes Deeper into QAnon Followers Rally. In it, CNN correspondent Sullivan reported on a pro-QAnon rally in Arizona.

In the report, Sullivan stated, “‘Where one goes, all others will follow,’ the tagline of QAnon as promoted by Michael Flynn.”

In support of this claim, CNN also aired a video that General Flynn posted on social media on July 4, 2020. The video showed members of the Flynn family saying the phrase before General Flynn took the oath of allegiance to the U.S. Constitution.

The two plaintiffs point out that the phrase was actually originally inscribed on a sailboat owned by President John F. Kennedy and has nothing to do with the QAnon movement.

The lawsuit alleges that CNN’s intent to defame is clear in that the video intentionally ignores that they were actually pledging allegiance to the U.S. Constitution and does not mention that they said “God Bless America,” but instead “deceptively suggests that the Flynns were pledging allegiance to QAnon “.

The lawsuit states, “Plaintiffs are not followers of any extremism, including QAnon. The (CNN) error constitutes a substantial injury to Plaintiff’s reputation.” To this day, the plaintiffs are still forced to defend themselves when asked by friends and others.

Currently, General Fring’s brother and wife are seeking a massive $75 million in damages.

In a related report, Breitbart News said that people have been waiting a long, long Time for the left-wing media’s ongoing smear campaign against conservatives, and now they are finally suing the likes of CNN and The New York Times.
