On March 8, Alisha was found drowned in the Seine River with severe injuries, a heartbreaking story that shocked France with the brutality of her killers.
On March 10, prosecutors described to reporters how two teenagers as young as 15 years old planned a horrific, premeditated murder by two of Alisha’s classmates for a suspected “love affair”.
On the evening of March 8, a woman came to the police station in Argenteuil and voluntarily alerted the police that her son (hereinafter referred to as the suspect male) and another girl (hereinafter referred to as the suspect female) might have killed someone, and led the police to the crime scene where they found Alisha’s body floating in the river with multiple serious injuries.
Alisha was a student at the same private vocational high school in the French town of Argenteuil as the suspect and the suspect girl, and the three were close friends. The turning point was when the suspect hacked into Alisha’s social media App and stole some pictures of Alisha in her underwear and posted them on the school’s website with a message calling her a bitch and a whore.
After the incident came to light, Alisha had an argument and a fight with the suspect female in the bathroom, and then Alisha kept receiving “death threats” from the other party, causing Alisha to be very afraid to go to school for a while.
The two suspects then refused to stop and “premeditatedly” planned the violent attack in order to “give the girl nowhere to run.
On Saturday, March 6, the female suspect offered to meet Alisha at the pier, a remote and sparsely populated area, and when Alisha arrived, the male suspect was already there, hiding behind a bridge pillar, punching Alisha in the face and tearing her hair as she turned around, and kicking Alisha repeatedly in the head and back as she lay on the ground. Alisha was kicked repeatedly in the head and back as she lay on the ground. The prosecutor described Alisha as still conscious but unable to move, lying on the floor with her eyes open.
The suspect male and female then grabbed Alisha and threw her off the dock platform, horrifically wearing gloves for fear of leaving traces of the incident.
After the incident, the suspect and the suspect returned to the boy’s Home and had dinner with his mother, according to the mother: there was nothing unusual about the two men at dinner, and she didn’t think anything had happened until they returned to the house and locked the door.
The boy confessed to his mother that they had just beaten a girl and thrown her into the Seine. The mother rushed to the pier and did not find the girl’s body, but found a pair of gloves stained with blood and some hair at the scene, and when she returned home, her son and the girl were gone, and only a shirt with blood was found on her son’s bed.
At the same Time, Alisha’s mother reported her daughter missing to the police. With the help of the suspect’s mother, the local police found Alisha’s body under a bridge along the river on the A15 at 9pm that night, and a coroner’s autopsy at the scene found that the body had been struck hard on the head and face and that the cause of death was drowning.
In the early morning hours of March 9, two 15-year-old suspects were arrested at the home of another friend.
Although the incident is still under investigation, it has already caused a great deal of repercussions in French society. Among other things, scholars have linked it to other forms of violence against minors, such as gang fighting, suggesting that it is social networks that catalyze the violence.
In recent years, school bullying in France has become more and more frequent and younger, and more people believe that this incident is no longer as simple as “bullying”, but a proper “murder”!
According to some data, at least 700,000 schoolchildren are victims of “school violence” in France, and one data also reveals the biggest problem under “school violence”: one in ten victims of school violence want to commit suicide.
