Refugees waiting to enter the U.S.-Mexico border on Feb. 19.
President Biden‘s loose immigration policy since taking office has triggered an influx of migrants from the southern United States. Since February, thousands of Central American refugees have flocked to the United States. Former U.S. President Donald Trump (Trump) recently said that the United States is being destroyed, which is a terrible thing.
Biden revoked the national emergency on the U.S.-Mexico border after taking office and implemented a lenient policy on illegal immigration, attracting a flurry of Central American refugees.
The White House announced an immigration bill on Feb. 18 that would give illegal immigrants in the U.S. temporary status for five years, with eligibility for citizenship after three years. These immigration initiatives have attracted a greater influx of people into the United States.
In February, at the U.S.-Mexico border, the U.S. Border Patrol detained about 100,000 Central American illegal immigrants. The Washington Post said that was the highest February figure in the United States since 2006.
March saw an even larger influx of migrants, with the U.S. Border Patrol detaining more than 4,500 refugees crossing the U.S.-Mexico border on March 3 alone.
When Trump was in office, he allowed border authorities to quickly deport illegal immigrants, citing the Communist virus outbreak. But since taking office, Biden has excluded from this policy children who entered the country illegally without their Parents or legal guardians. This has led to a recent influx of Central American children into the United States.
In recent weeks, about 350 Central American children have been crossing the U.S.-Mexico border every day without parents, four times the size of last fall, the report said.
U.S. border officials have been forced to find housing for some of the child refugees and speed up the process of releasing them to sponsors in the United States. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) was also mobilized to assist in testing for the CCP virus.
During the outbreak, the influx of illegal immigrants posed a health threat. Officials in Brownsville, Texas, confirmed that 108 immigrants who entered the country illegally have tested positive for the CCP virus since late January, and that the immigrants are dispersing to various parts of the United States.
Members of the House Oversight Committee issued a stern warning 2 months that the Biden Administration‘s immigration policies are causing a health crisis.
According to Fox, Trump released a statement on March 9 saying that his immigration policy during his presidency has been a triumph and that under his leadership the U.S.-Mexico border is in good shape and more secure than ever before.
He also criticized Biden’s immigration policy, saying it is a terrible thing that the United States is now being destroyed at the southern border.
U.S. House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) also recently sent a letter to Biden requesting a meeting to discuss the immigration crisis at the U.S.-Mexico border.
McCarthy said, “We must acknowledge that there is a border crisis and develop a plan that also strongly discourages, in firm terms, individuals from Mexico and Central America from making the dangerous journey to our southern border.”
The White House said it will soon send senior advisers to the border to assess the number of incoming migrants. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security says the U.S.-Mexico border could see the largest influx of migrants in 20 years in the next few months, but the Biden administration hasn’t publicly said how it will stem the flow.
According to the latest annual study by the nonprofit Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR), there are currently about 14.5 million illegal immigrants in the United States, most of whom live along the southern border or in immigrant sanctuary states. Researchers note that these are only estimates and that the actual number may be higher.
