During his campaign, Biden promised to maintain a tough stance against the Chinese Communist Party, and after becoming president, he said the United States “must speak out for human rights. However, public opinion believes that Biden is all talk and no action. Some experts have advised Biden to stick to Trump‘s hard-line policy against the Chinese Communist Party, and that his indecisiveness would give the Chinese Communist Party an opportunity to take advantage of the situation, with inexcusable consequences.
According to reports, Biden has been promising to maintain a tough stance against the Chinese Communist Party during his campaign and inauguration, but his early actions show that his words are not matched by his actions. U.S. experts warn that Biden’s reconsideration of U.S. policy toward the Chinese Communist Party could backfire. As long as Biden is indecisive, the Chinese Communist Party will be able to take advantage of it.
Republican Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-Texas) also warned the Biden Administration that the Chinese Communist Party is “our adversary,” adding that Beijing has threatened the U.S. supply chain and urging the White House to “step up its response.
Will Coggin, managing director of the American Security Institute, told Newsmax that “China [the Chinese Communist Party] is always looking for opportunities to apply pressure to influence the American narrative.”
International law expert Gentry Sayad is the managing partner of the law firm Sayad & Associates. He told Newsmax that Biden has spent a month in office undoing policies pushed by President Trump. He said Biden’s sole mission is to undo everything Trump has done.
So far, Biden has abandoned plans to make TikTok, the overseas version of Jitterbug, sell to a U.S. company. Coggin was shocked by this and said the Biden administration has yet to take any steps to secure Americans’ private data.
China expert and author Gordon G. Chang noted that a report by Radio Free Asia found that the Chinese Communist military sent people to the United States to use TikTok to inflame public opinion and encourage riots. This could be considered an act of war.
Sayad also said that in addition to TikTok, there is WeChat and even Zoom, which the Chinese Communist Party uses for data mining.
Coggin also said that the CCP is also collecting data on the genetic information of Americans to use against an individual or to create biological weapons.
He said that familial DNA testing is now popular, but the companies offering such tests are selling the results to a number of companies based in China. Because of the lack of U.S. legislation aimed at cracking down on such practices, Coggin fears that the Chinese Communist Party will continue to buy such data, which would pose a threat to Americans while enhancing the Communist Party’s global dominance.
In addition to this, Biden has quietly given a pass to the Confucius Institute. In a statement, U.S. House of Representatives High Commissioner for Foreign Affairs Michael McCaul (R-Texas) said, “I strongly urge the Biden administration to keep its promise to include the Chinese Communist Party as our primary national security challenge in the U.S. Education system.”
In the face of the Biden administration’s actual policy of showing weakness to the Chinese Communist Party, Republican Rep. Lloyd Smucker (R-Texas) wrote on his Twitter account, “The Biden Administration must take the continued threat from China [the Chinese Communist Party] seriously.”
Republican Senator Bill Hagerty (R-Tenn.) also said in an interview on Fox that he believes Biden has not been tough on the CCP and that the Biden administration needs to wake up and understand that the CCP is not only a competitor, but an important strategic adversary. They are targeting the U.S. militarily, diplomatically and economically. The United States needs to stand up now, not back down.
Earlier, Biden addressed the issue of human rights abuses by the CCP during a Feb. 16 appearance on a CNN-sponsored town hall TV program. He said he talked about human rights in a two-hour call with Xi Jinping last week. China’s actions in Hong Kong and Xinjiang were mentioned, as well as the Taiwan issue. But Biden followed up by saying, “Culturally, every country has different norms that they expect their leaders to abide by.”
The remarks raised questions from Republicans and conservatives. In an interview on Fox News Wednesday, former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said, “The kind of discourse that says this is just a different set of norms is the Chinese (Communist Party of China) propaganda line. They (the Chinese Communist Party) want you to think it’s just a quiet country with a system that may be a little bit different.”
“The truth of the matter is that they (the Chinese Communist Party) are trying to destroy an entire nation.” Pompeo said.
Biden also said at the town hall meeting that the United States “must speak out for human rights.” He said China (the Chinese Communist Party) is working very hard to become a world leader and to earn that title. And to do that, they have to gain the trust of other countries. As long as they engage in activities that violate basic human rights, it will be very difficult for them to do so.
Pompeo urged Biden on Wednesday not to be all talk and no action. He said Xi sees a new U.S. administration that will become more moderate.
