According to documents released by the CDC, mask wearing orders were implemented in 2,312 of the 3,142 counties in the United States from March 1 to December 31, 2020. There was a 0.5% correlation between wearing a mask within 1-20 days of implementation and a decrease in the daily growth rate of CCLV infections, a 1.1% correlation within 21-40 days, a 1.5% correlation within 41-60 days, a 1.7% correlation within 61-80 days, and a 1.8% correlation within 81-100 days. Wearing a mask was associated with a 0.7% decrease in the daily rate of death from the CCA virus within 1-20 days of implementation, 1.0% within 21-40 days, 1.4% within 41-60 days, 1.6% within 61-80 days, and 1.9% within 81-100 days.
The CDC’s findings at first glance suggest that wearing a mask is helping to reduce the spread of the CCA virus, reducing the number of CCA cases by about 1.5 percent over two months. However, the CDC says that this value does not even exceed the statistically tolerable rate of bias, so it says that there is no statistical difference between the results before wearing the masks and the results during wearing the masks.
