On February 24, 2021, Justnews.com reported on Amazon’s censorship of books that have been subject to “hate speech. Sometime before this week, Amazon removed a book critical of transgender ideology from its digital shelves when it changed its policy on banned content to explicitly ban books that promote “hate speech.
The Gateway Pundit said Obama’s latest biography, “Promised Land,” lied about Israel’s history and incited hatred of the Jewish state. If Amazon is now going to censor “hate speech” books, it should rightly censor Obama’s sinful new biography.
On December 28, 2020, Spencer described how Obama lied about Israel’s history in his biography in order to incite hatred of the Jewish state. Robert Spencer is an American author and blogger known for his criticism of Islam and jihad.
Spencer argues that Obama fosters the common assumption that the Israelis are the illegal occupiers of Palestinian land. The truth, however, is that there has never been a Palestinian state, nor a Palestinian king, or emperor, or president. There has never been such a Palestinian nation or race as distinct from the Arab nation and race of the region. Palestine, like Staten Island or Georgetown, has always been the name of a region, not a nation-state.
Spencer notes that Obama claims that Jews “have organized trained armed forces to defend their settlements.” But there is no mention of the historical attacks on Israeli civilians.
In 1919, Muslim leader Amin al-Husseini, a member of a prominent Arab clan in Jerusalem, orchestrated a series of attacks on Jews throughout Palestine. Six Jews were killed and more than two hundred others were wounded during the mass looting and rape at Passover the following year. Most of the casualties were elderly people, women and children.
In August 1929, in Jerusalem, rioting Arabs killed 133 Jews and injured more than 200 others, many of them in their homes. In Hebron, they killed another 67 Jews, and in Safed, 20 Jews were killed. Obama does not address any of this in his book.
One gets no hint from Obama’s account that all these conflicts in which Israel is involved are due to earlier unprovoked attacks on Israel by Arab armies. Obama seems determined to portray Israel as the aggressor, believing in the general ignorance of his readers. Obama declares that “the next thirty years will see a series of conflicts between Israel and its Arab neighbors.”
Obama’s animosity toward Israel is so great that he even calls the Temple Mount “one of the holiest sites in Islam” without ever mentioning its central importance in Judaism.
Thus, “Promised Land” provides a concise primer for leftists to remind them why they must hate Israel ……”
