U.S. man claims UFO landed in his backyard and aliens sent him muffins

In the 1960s, a Wisconsin man claimed that an unidentified flying object (UFO) landed in his backyard and that the alien inside asked him for water and gave him some muffins. He later submitted some of the muffins to government officials for testing.

The man, Joe Simonton, is a chicken farmer in Eagle River, Texas. The alien sighting he claims occurred at about 11 a.m. on April 18, 1961.

Simonton, 60, said he saw a flying saucer from inside his house that landed in his yard like an elevator from top to bottom, but did not touch the ground. So he rushed out to check.

Simonton said three aliens met up with him. They were 5 feet (1.5 meters) tall, wearing black or navy turtlenecks, and wearing helmets.

He told the media at the Time that the aliens appeared to have “Italian accents” and were about 25 or 30 years old. One of them was holding a metal can and gestured to Simonton by making a drinking gesture.

Simonton knew they needed water, so he took the can, which weighed slightly more than an aluminum can, back to the house to get water. After he handed the water-filled can back to the other man, he saluted him, and he raised his hand in return.

He mentioned that he saw a man inside the flying saucer baking muffin-like Food in a square cooker without a flame. The man gave him four hot muffins with a diameter of 7.5 centimeters and many small holes.

He also said that when the flying saucer left, it flew directly to the south at a 45-degree angle of inclination and disappeared without a trace in just two or three seconds. This made him look dumbfounded and wonder what had happened.

After this incident, the U.S. Air Force sent J Allen Hynek, an astronomer known for his research on UFOs, to investigate. He sent the muffins provided by Simonton to be analyzed. It turned out that the muffins consisted of flour, sugar and grease.

The official U.S. Air Force investigation report labeled Simonton’s alien sighting as “cause unknown.
