Blockade or not the results of the same Biden virus experts: beyond our interpretation

People rally outside the county administration building to protest the new lockdown order in San Diego, California, Nov. 16, 2020.

Has the embargo done anything to alleviate the outbreak? There are no fewer infections in California and other blue states under lockdown than in the relatively free state of Florida, is the answer given by Andy Slavitt, senior advisor to the White House Communist virus outbreak response team.

In a recent interview with Microsoft-NBC, the host told Slavitt, “I want to start with what we just saw: comparing Florida to California, where California is essentially on lockdown, their outbreak numbers are no different than Florida’s.”

“Uh, look, there’s so much of this, hey, virus that we think we understand, we think we can predict, that it’s just beyond, a little bit beyond our interpretation.” Slavitt responded.

Although Slavitt admitted he did not know why the embargo was ineffective, the senior Biden administration adviser sold the idea that wearing masks, maintaining social distance and mass vaccinations would ensure the virus “goes away.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who has received widespread praise for his freedom-based approach during the Communist virus pandemic, recently blasted the Biden Administration for supporting the embargo and travel restrictions that would affect Floridians.

DeSantis said it is completely absurd that the Biden administration is considering limiting travel for Floridians, especially when Biden is allowing illegal immigrants to flood the southern border. To subject Floridians to unfair treatment for political purposes is unacceptable.

Last Thursday, DeSantis said at a press conference, “If you think about it, it would be an absurd, but very damaging farce to restrict the right of Americans to travel freely throughout their own country while allowing illegal immigrants to pour across the southern border unmolested.”

“So we would be 100 percent against it, it would not be scientifically sound, it would be a pure political attack on the people of Florida.” DeSantis said.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) is currently facing a recall crisis by voters in connection with his botched statewide blockade.

Michael Osterholm, an infectious disease expert and member of Biden’s outbreak advisory board, warned in an op-ed for The Washington Post back on March 21 of last year that the current economically and socially costly ones imposed in China and Italy “nearly draconian embargoes” that will not ultimately reduce the number of cases. But in November, the month of the U.S. election, he abruptly shifted his views and advocated a national embargo of four to six weeks.
