Russia has slammed the Biden administration for “persecuting” Trump supporters and political dissidents, the National Archives reports.
Russia calls on the United States to respect the human rights of its political opponents.
The Russian Foreign Ministry issued a statement slamming the U.S. government under Joe Biden for its “ongoing campaign of persecution” against “all those who disagree with the results of the latest presidential election.
In the statement, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova offered a scathing assessment of the human rights situation in the United States under President Joe Biden.
Zakharova described the ongoing U.S. crackdown on Trump loyalists.
“The FBI has reportedly opened more than 400 criminal cases, applied for more than 500 search warrants and subpoenas against suspects, and filed charges and detained about 200 people. Only a few dozen defendants have been released on bail or placed under house arrest. The rest were subjected to severe pressure, with Family members and members of their social circles coerced into providing ‘convenient’ testimony. In addition, those who have not even been formally charged are losing their jobs; they are being banned from social media and publicly ostracized.”
She also questioned the “objectivity of the law enforcement agencies” involved in the campaign, noting that they acted on orders and that “according to the current administration, they declared the events of January 6, 2021, a riot and that everyone in the vicinity of the U.S. Capitol that day was a predator.”
She went on to correctly point out that the majority of participants in the Jan. 6 rally were far from violent rioters, but peaceful protesters.
“In fact, the majority of these people were ordinary citizens concerned about the situation in their country,” she said.” These are the 74 million voters who voted for their president and defend their views.”
She warned that the government’s crackdown would not address the widespread discontent with Biden’s rule.
“Their protests are not going to just go away. You can’t hide those grievances. Even the rhetoric the U.S. has allowed itself to use against Russia will not help divert public attention from the country’s own problems. These issues will have to be dealt with. American citizens deserve to be treated in accordance with the law and in line with Washington’s international obligations.”
Accordingly, she then called on the United States to respect the “basic human rights” of Trump supporters.
“In these circumstances, we have every reason to be concerned and to demand that basic human rights be observed,” she added. She added.” U.S. officials constantly and hypocritically focus on these rights when speaking about other countries; however, they have no qualms about ignoring them at Home.”
As the human rights situation in the United States continues to deteriorate, it is clear to the world that Trump supporters are a suppressed group in Biden’s America, the report said.
