Three others who were successively sentenced to Life imprisonment were Du Shicheng, then deputy secretary of the Shandong Provincial Party Committee and secretary of the Qingdao Municipal Party Committee; Huang Songyou, then vice president of the Supreme Court and second-ranking justice; and Zheng Shaodong, then assistant minister of the Ministry of Public Security (vice ministerial level).

Radio Free Asia commentator Gao Xin wrote on Feb. 12 that in contemporary China under the Chinese Communist Party, if it has long been an unspoken rule in official circles for subordinates to contribute mistresses to their superiors, it has become a fashionable trend for peers to introduce, exchange, or even share the same mistress with each other.
The article says that when the author was following the case of Chen Tonghai, he heard from a person who worked in the Beijing Municipal Party Committee that Liu Zhihua’s crime was exposed because his mistress surnamed Wang was in trouble first. The author also said that after Li Wei hooked up with Liu Zhihua, Liu Zhihua had not had Time to cash in on the project he gave her Li Wei, but he was first confessed by his mistress Wang. The company’s main business is to provide a wide range of products and services to the public.
The Beijing-based source also revealed that although Liu Zhihua was confirmed that not a single penny of the crime amount was flowing to Li Wei, but Li Wei’s confession should also be one of the evidence that led to Liu Zhihua being resentenced to death. It proves that Liu Zhihua did not confess all the facts of his crimes, including the attempted crimes, to the “organization” and the judicial authorities, both during the process of being double-regulated by the CCDI and after being “transferred to justice”.
And about half of Du Shicheng’s major crimes are directly and indirectly related to Li Wei. Since they were once blessed together, they should naturally share the difficulties. Later, Du Shicheng was sentenced to life imprisonment, and the official media reports at the time highlighted that he was “treated leniently” because of his “meritorious work in exposing Chen Tonghai”.
What is so shocking is that this lover, who was so favored by Chen Tonghai, was “generously” given to Du Shicheng, former deputy secretary of the Shandong Provincial Party Committee and secretary of the Qingdao Municipal Party Committee.
