Republican U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia tweeted Saturday (Jan. 30) (see here) that she had just ended a call with former President Trump while saying that America’s internal enemy is socialism.
Green sent out a series of tweets Saturday morning that, in addition to mentioning her thanks for Trump’s support, also publicly responded to the recent strife between her and Democratic House members, saying she would not back down.
“I had a great call with my all-Time favorite president, Trump!” Greene wrote, “I am so grateful for his support and more importantly, the people of this country are absolutely 100% loyal to him because he is 100% loyal to the people and America First.”
“You will never be able to defeat him because we the people stand behind him.” Greene added.
She criticized that the media and America-hating socialists attack her the same way they always attacked former President Trump.
“I can assure you that I will not back down. I will never apologize. And I will always fight for the people. For me, it’s America First!” Greene wrote.
Battle over female House freshman
Greene was recently involved in a verbal dispute with Democratic female Rep. Rep. Cori Bush, a Missouri African-American Democrat, accused Green of “yelling” at her in the aisle, yelling at her and not wearing a mask.
Greene said Bush was lying.
Bush and Green are both freshman congresswomen who took office in January. Greene filed a bill to impeach Biden on President Biden’s first day in office.
Democratic Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) moved Busch out of Greene’s office on the 29th and asked Republican leaders to punish and remove Greene from office. The media also kept digging up Green’s past comments on social media, accusing her of spreading political conspiracy theories and supporting Trump, which is extremely disturbing.
A day earlier (28), Pelosi said publicly that members of Congress need more security funding because “the enemy is coming from within the House of Representatives”.
When asked what she meant by “the enemy is in the House,” she replied, “There are members of Congress who want to carry guns into the chamber and threaten violence against other members.”
“The enemy within America is socialism.”
Greene appeared to be replying to Pelosi’s criticism in her Saturday tweet.
She referred to the divisive reality of American society and said that the enemy within the United States is socialism.
“In these divisive times, true leaders must have the resolve and strength to stand up to fanatical thugs – who target weaknesses and destroy our country to get what they want.” Greene wrote.
“Yes, there is an enemy within (the United States).” That enemy, she said, “is the toxic rot of socialist policies, the traitors of America’s padded (policies) who are pompous hypocrites but consider themselves the untouchable elite.”
Greene criticized these people for condoning the destructive blockade policy, but not applying the rules themselves.
“They promote, support, cheer, and fund the deadly and violent ‘Antifa’ or BLM (Black Lives Matter Too) riots, which burn cities, attack police, harm innocent people, and terrorize Americans.” Greene wrote.
“I and all Republicans have condemned the attack on the Capitol and we were victims of it, but our Democratic colleagues have tried to lie and place blame on us – yet we had nothing to do with the violence and have been condemning it. “
“Where is the security of the congressional elite to keep civilians safe?”
She also questioned that the elites are safe, but where are the safeguards for ordinary civilians? “After the Capitol attack, 30,000 National Guardsmen came to protect the Capitol and to protect the elites. Yet where is the protection for all the people and American cities that have been ravaged in the past year?” Greene wrote.
“Where is the outrage for the ordinary people who had to endure the Democratic riots and no one came to their rescue?”
She said she will never back down and will stand up to those who abet the hatred of their followers while protecting America’s freedom.
“I’m grateful to say that the people supported me and I will always support them.”
“Any elected politician who does not put America first is unworthy of their office and the trust of the people.” She said, “The America Last policy is the policy of traitors and losers!”
Green said Friday that she has raised more than $1.6 million from donors for her re-election campaign as she fights the “smear campaign. She has received mostly small donations from nearly 60,000 Americans in all 50 states.
