Say independence for real! Vote to secede from the U.S. Texas lawmakers introduce bill

Texas lawmakers have introduced a bill that would allow Texas residents to vote on seceding from the United States, according to The Gateway Pundit.

Texas Rep. Kyle Biedermann (R-Texas) introduced a bill Tuesday that would allow Texans to vote on seceding from the United States, the report said.

House Bill 1359, also known as the Texas Independence Referendum Bill, would allow residents to vote on whether the Texas Legislature should create an interim joint commission to develop a plan for the state’s independence.

In a press release provided to The Gateway Pundit, the Texas Nationalist Movement explained, “The bill would give Texans the opportunity to head to the polls in November 2021 to begin the process of re-establishing our status as an independent state. If the people vote yes, the bill provides for the creation of a commission to begin developing a transition plan to address all issues related to decoupling from the federal government.”

Daniel Miller, president of the Texas Nationalist Movement, added, “This bill simply puts the issue in the hands of the people of Texas. Even if legislators don’t personally support Texas Decoupling (TEXIT), they should at least support your right to have a public debate and vote on the issue. Your representatives either believe you are smart and responsible enough to make this decision, or they believe they know what’s best for you, regardless of what you think. There is no middle ground.”

“The people of Texas are tired of living under 180,000 pages of federal law administered by 2.5 million unelected bureaucrats,” Miller said.” At the end of the day, the best people to govern Texas are Texans, and this vote will give us that opportunity.”

Representative Biederman said the national government has failed Texans and should allow them to vote on secession from the Union.

“This bill simply allows Texans to vote by referendum. This decision is too big to just be monopolized by our power brokers in the Capitol. We need to let Texans’ voices be heard! “

In a statement, Biederman said, “Texas voters of all political stripes agree on one thing, Washington, D.C. has been devastated.” Our national government has continually failed our working families, seniors, taxpayers, veterans and small business owners. For decades, our federal government has eroded the promise of America and our individual freedoms. It’s Time to give the people of Texas the right to decide their own future. This is not a political issue of left or right. It’s simply about allowing Texans the right to vote.”
