China’s epidemic risk zones rise to 73 “epic” against the epidemic has become tasteless

China’s New Year’s Eve homecoming in 2021 has been massively curtailed by the Communist Party’s virus outbreak, which is arguably the most depressed in history. So far, the number of risk zones in China has increased to 73. Netizens have derided Beijing‘s propaganda as an “epic fight against the Epidemic” that has gone badly awry.

As the Chinese New Year approaches, there are outbreaks in at least 21 provinces and cities in China, and many places are promoting “New Year in Place”, asking people not to return Home unless necessary, and even proposing harsh nucleic acid testing and quarantine measures, making many Chinese people sigh in disbelief and “unable to return home”.

The Chinese New Year’s Eve, which is known as the “largest population migration on earth”, has also been significantly reduced. This year’s national railroad passenger flow is expected to be revised downward to 296 million.

Speaking to Voice of America, Fan Shiping, a professor at the Institute of Political Science at Taiwan Normal University, said Xi Jinping delivered his 2021 New Year’s greeting speech on Dec. 31 last year, saying the Communist Party “has written an epic of resistance to epidemics. He questioned, “How can you have such a problem when you have fought an epic battle?”

Fan Shiping believes that the dramatic shrinkage of the return tide has had a major impact on Xi’s prestige within the party. “You’re telling everyone again that you’ve been successful in preventing the epidemic, so why can’t you go home for New Year’s Eve if you’ve been successful in preventing the epidemic?”

Luo Qing-sheng, executive director of the International Institute for Strategic Studies in Taiwan, pointed out that the massive shrinkage of the scale of China’s New Year homecoming has a great impact on China’s consumption and economy.

The epidemic has now spread widely in China, and as of Jan. 23, there are 73 epidemic risk areas across China, including six high-risk areas and 67 medium-risk areas. Among them, the two largest cities, Beijing and Shanghai, each have three medium-risk areas.

Recently, the Xicheng District of Beijing, where Zhongnanhai is located, was fully tested and screened for the outbreak. Shanghai hospitals also recently broke out with confirmed cases and spread rapidly, with all major hospitals being fully staffed for testing and screening, and many hospitals being closed.

On January 22, confirmed cases were found in Zhaotong Road residential area and Zhongfu Shifuhui Hotel in Huangpu District, Shanghai, which were classified as medium-risk areas. 23, confirmed patients were also found in Linjiang Xincun neighborhood on Youyi Road in Baoshan District, Shanghai, which was adjusted to medium-risk areas.

A subway worker recently reported that in recent days, there have been many cases of people falling down anywhere in Shanghai subway stations and carriages, including elderly people and young boys, similar to the situation in Wuhan last year when the epidemic broke out, but it could not be confirmed whether these people were caused by the infection.

He also revealed that when he was working at the station, he saw people with fever and dizziness vomiting on the platform for several days, and finally the station manager called 120 to send them to hospital for treatment. He said, “As a citizen, I feel the epidemic may have broken out in Shanghai in a big way, but the city government strictly forbids news reports ……”

Earlier, it was also revealed online that people were also falling down anywhere in Suihua City, Heilongjiang Province and Langfang City, Hebei Province, which are the hardest hit areas of the epidemic, and that people were on edge, but officials were all blocking information.
