Chief Justice John Roberts doesn’t want to preside over the Senate’s second impeachment of President Trump

The Gateway Pundit reported Jan. 19 that Chief Justice John Roberts said he does not want to preside over a second Senate impeachment hearing against President Donald Trump.

Democrats want to proceed with impeachment after President Trump leaves office, something that has never been done before in U.S. history. Democrats are desperate to destroy President Trump and to make Trump pay for four years of revelations about the corruption and failures of the Democratic Party.

After presiding over the impeachment of President Trump for the first Time, Chief Justice John Roberts is eager to avoid presiding over a second impeachment trial against President Donald Trump, according to MSN.com.

The Senate is trying to determine how to proceed with impeachment without compromising the smooth start of Joe Biden‘s term, and the Supreme Court may also face the problem of rearranging its own affairs. Although it is said that the U.S. Constitution states, “When the President of the United States shall be tried, the Chief Justice shall preside.” But since the Senate has been in recess since the House voted to move to impeach Trump, the trial of Trump has dragged on into Trump’s non-term, which could spell trouble for Justice Roberts.

The Gateway Pundit said viewers are asked to mark this point, with Harvard law professor Alan Dershowitz insisting that Democrats cannot impeach Trump because they cannot impeach an official who no longer holds public office.
