White House releases report card on President Trump’s four years in office

The White House has released a document titled “Trump Administration Accomplishments” that provides a detailed summary of President Trump’s (Trump) accomplishments during his four years in office.

This report card includes an unprecedented economic boom in the U.S. prior to the Chinese Communist virus (Wuhan pneumonia) pandemic, providing jobs for Americans of all backgrounds, tax cuts for the middle class, creating job and investment opportunity zones, and deregulation.

The Trump administration has also successfully negotiated more than fifty agreements with countries around the world to increase access to foreign markets, boost U.S. agricultural exports and support employment for more than one million Americans.

The report card cites as some of the signature pillars of the president’s agenda the construction of more than 450 miles of new border wall, the use of more than $2.2 trillion in military spending to “completely rebuild the U.S. military,” and the creation of a space force.

In a statement released Jan. 14, Trump said, “It is a tremendous honor to rebuild our military and to support our brave men and women in uniform.”

The report card also cited Trump’s rebuilding of the U.S. judicial system with the appointment of a historic number of federal judges. In a dominant situation with Republicans in control of the Senate, Trump successfully sent three conservative justices to the Supreme Court and nominated and confirmed more than 230 federal judges, as well as confirming 54 judges to the U.S. Court of Appeals, nearly one-third of the entire appellate court bench.

The White House release also cites the Trump administration’s accomplishments in defeating terrorist groups such as ISIS.

Unprecedented economy

The White House said that before the epidemic hit, “we built the most prosperous economy in the world.” The U.S. gained 7 million new jobs, more than three times what government experts had predicted. Middle-class household incomes rose by nearly $6,000, more than five times the gains made during the entire previous administration. The unemployment rate reached 3.5 percent, the lowest point in half a century. For the 40th consecutive month, there were more job openings than new hires.

In addition, more Americans than ever before are reporting employment, nearly 160 million; the number of people claiming unemployment insurance as a percentage of the population is at an all-time low. Income in every metropolitan area in the U.S. rose for the first time in nearly 30 years.

Confronting Communism and Socialism

In confronting communism and socialism, the Trump administration reversed the Obama administration’s disastrous policy toward Cuba and canceled its deal with the communist Castro dictatorship.

Trump has said that sanctions will only be lifted if the Cuban regime releases all political prisoners, respects freedom of assembly and expression, legalizes all political parties and arranges free elections.

The Trump administration has also taken a series of crackdowns on Venezuelan dictator Nicolas Maduro, including blocking all Venezuelan government property under U.S. jurisdiction; cutting off the Maduro regime’s financial resources and sanctioning key Venezuelan businesses used by the regime.

In confronting the Chinese Communist Party, the White House said the Trump administration has developed a government-wide strategy to address the threat posed by China’s (CCP) malicious actions against the U.S. taxpayer-funded research and development ecosystem; Trump also signed the Hong Kong Autonomy Act, ending U.S. preferential treatment of Hong Kong and holding China (CCP) accountable for violating Hong Kong’s autonomy; and the Trump administration led allies in thwarting CCP attempts to control The Trump administration also urged the United Nations to hold Beijing accountable for its handling of the Chinese Communist Party virus, including Beijing’s refusal to provide transparency and its failure to contain the virus in time before it spreads globally; and the Trump administration worked to combat drugs from China.

In addition, the report card lists a number of measures taken by the Trump administration to combat unfair trade actions by the Chinese Communist Party.

Defending Global Religious Freedom

The report card also highlights the Trump administration’s defense of religious freedom in the United States and around the world, including being the first president to convene a conference at the United Nations to urge an end to religious persecution; establishing the White House Faith and Opportunity Initiative; stopping the Johnson Amendment from interfering with the right of ministers to express their views; and overturning the previous administration’s efforts to block the government from ; overturned a previous administration policy that prevented the government from providing disaster relief to religious organizations; directed U.S. assistance to persecuted communities; launched the International Coalition for Religious Freedom, the first-ever coalition dedicated to fighting global religious persecution; imposed restrictions on certain Communist Party officials, security agencies and companies involved in the persecution of Uighurs in Xinjiang; and issued an executive order to protect and promote religious freedom around the world.

Earlier this month, President Trump promised an “orderly transition” to the incoming administration and said he would not attend the inauguration of President-elect Joe Biden. On Saturday, a reporter posted that Trump’s staff was moving out of the West Wing.

“The walls of the West Wing are bare, except for a few paintings and pictures that belong to the White House. Most desks have been emptied.” Bloomberg White House correspondent Jennifer Jacobs tweeted.
