The brilliant Zhuge Liang where no one knows where he is buried

Where can I find the shrine of the prime minister? The cypress outside the Jin Guan City. The green grass is in spring color, and the oriole has a good sound.
The three reviews frequently bothered the world, and the two dynasties opened the hearts of the old ministers. The hero’s tears filled his lapel.

For more than 1700 years, emperors, generals and scholars have praised Zhuge Liang as a personification of wisdom and a model of loyalty. However, no one knows where he was buried after his death, and it is still an unsolved mystery, why?

In “Romance of the Three Kingdoms”, Zhuge Liang’s last battle in the world, the “Battle of Wuzhang Yuan”, is vividly depicted.

At that time, the two armies of Wei and Shu confronted each other for more than 100 days. After the autumn, Zhuge Liang fell ill from exhaustion and his condition worsened. He sat on a chariot and gave his last condolences to the soldiers at the front.

The people were in tears, they knew that the prime minister, who had the hopes of millions of soldiers and people in Shu, was about to leave the world.

Zhuge Liang looked at the banner fluttering in the wind, gazing at the four words “Recover the Central Plains”, and his heart was filled with infinite melancholy. The autumn breeze blew with a biting chill, Zhuge Liang could not help but look up to the sky and sigh: “I can no longer discuss the thieves in battle! The long sky, when it has the extreme!” This last sigh and the five zhang Yuan autumn wind, twilight into a piece, heaven and earth also for the sentimental. Zhuge Liang has since stepped down from the stage of history.

As for how to arrange after Zhuge Liang, the official history of the Three Kingdoms – Zhuge Liang biography: “Liang’s last order to be buried in Hanzhong Dingjun Mountain, because the mountain for the grave, the mound is sufficient to accommodate the coffin, convergence to the time clothing, do not need to ware.” The meaning is: to be buried in the military site of Dingjun Mountain, leaning against the mountain for the grave, the size of the grave can only accommodate the coffin, coffin only need to then clothing can be, do not need any artifacts.

However, after more than a thousand years, the world knows that the tomb of Marquis Wu located in Dingjun Mountain is only a tomb of clothes, Zhuge Liang’s flesh is unknown, so the actual burial site of Zhuge Liang’s flesh has been a matter of opinion, with several legends. Here are two of them.

Legend One

According to “Liang Zhou Ji”, at that time, the front line was critical, and the Wei army’s Sima Yi was watching, so in order to avoid leaking the news of the commander’s death, four soldiers were ordered to carry the coffin in Dingjun Mountain and walk south until the place where the bar broke and the rope rotted was the place of burial, but the four men were greedy for convenience and lied after walking for a day that the rope had rotted away, so they returned to the court to report to the emperor Liu Zen.

But Liu Zen listened to the four people feel that the intention to hide, how can a day on the bar broken rope rotten it? So the four were arrested and interrogated, after which they had to confess to cheating the emperor. Afterwards, Liu Zen was furious and executed the four men, and the world never knew the real burial place of Zhuge Liang again.

Legend 2

Zhuge Liang did not die, he just faked his “death” and retired, using the Taoist method of “necropsy” to turn his body into himself. The real body disappeared into the mountains to continue his monasticism, and later took on two children as disciples, who also circulated Zhuge Liang’s work “Ma Qian Zi” to the world.

The “Maqian Zhuan” is a prophetic book with fourteen lessons, each of which is a quatrain poem. In chronological order, each lesson accurately predicts the historical events after the Three Kingdoms era, and the last three lessons predict the destiny of the Chinese Communist Party and the salvation of the world by sages.

The first lesson of “The Lesson Before the Horse” reads.

I am powerless to return to Heaven, and I have done my best
The Eight Thousand Female Ghosts

This lesson is Zhuge Liang’s prophecy of himself. Zhuge Liang already knew that all his efforts would be “powerless”, but he still had to do his best to support Shu Han. In the dynasty, the eunuchs were in power and the state was in chaos, so it can be said that “the yin lives in the yang”.

After the death of Zhuge Liang, Cao Wei’s general Zhong Hui made a major southern expedition, and entered Chengdu with great force, and Liu Zen surrendered, thus ending the Shu Han Dynasty. “Eight thousand female ghosts” together, is a “Wei” word.

At that time in Baidi City, the late emperor Liu Bei on his deathbed, Zhuge Liang put all his hopes and sincere trust: “bother the prime minister to pay the imperial edict to the prince Zen, so that do not think that common words. I hope that the prime minister will teach me everything!” After that, Liu Bei wiped his tears with one hand and held Zhuge Liang’s hand with the other and said, “You are ten times as talented as Cao Pi, you will be able to settle the state and determine the great things in the end. If the heir can be assisted, he will be assisted; if he is not talented, you can be the Lord of Chengdu.” Liu Bei was even willing to hand over the throne to Zhuge Liang.

Zhuge Liang did not dare to accept this great gift, but had to do his best to repay Liu Bei’s love for him and the righteousness of entrusting him with the throne, even though he already knew what the outcome would be, he still insisted on completing his historical mission and achieved a thousand years of greatness later.

On the tomb of Zhuge Liang on Dingjun Mountain, there are several couplets that explain the reason why Zhuge Liang was buried on Dingjun Mountain in Hanzhong.

The old country will not return, the mountains and rivers have not yet attempted the will of the Central Plains; the loyal soul is still there, the road is contending to see the grave of the Han minister.
He was born to raise Liu and honor the Han family, and died to protect Shu and bury him on the military hill.
