Only 1mm thick Samsung launches under-screen camera notebook

Nowadays, all major cell phone manufacturers are researching under-screen camera technology, but Samsung seems to be off the beaten track, launching a laptop with an under-screen camera.

Samsung launched under-screen camera notebook: screen ratio of up to 93% thickness 1mm

January 14, Samsung display in its official microblogging put out a promotional video, showing its first screen camera Samsung OLED laptop.

From the content of the promotional video, showing the Samsung BLADE BEZEL technology trademark. And the computer features a sleek form factor thanks to the under-screen camera technology (UPC) with a transparent camera hole.

The ultra-thin screen bezel also gives Samsung OLED laptops a screen-to-body ratio of up to 93%, far better than the 85% screen-to-body ratio of traditional laptops.

In addition, the screen not only has narrower bezels, but also brings unprecedented thinness. The screen thickness is only 1㎜, which is only one-half of the thickness of a traditional monitor screen. The weight of the screen is 130g, which is only 70% of the weight of 180g of the traditional screen.

It is reported that in October last year, KIPO (Korea Intellectual Property Office) approved the new patent of Samsung Display “Blade Bezel” (Blade Bezel).

The description of the patent shows that the edge of the screen of the phone is also called the bezel. In recent years, the edge of the cell phone screen area is getting smaller and smaller, the advantage has been greatly reduced, based on this situation, Samsung seems to want to introduce a new form of bezel, that is, “Blade Bezel”.

Now it seems that this patent is not only applied to cell phone screens, but also applied to the screen of the notebook.
