According to the latest news, Canon will release the EOS R1 in the second half of 2021, and it is understood that the 2020 Tokyo Olympics will be held from July 23 to August 8, 2021. If held as scheduled, the Canon EOS R1 camera is likely to be unveiled at the games and will be officially released after the Olympics.
Previously, sources said that the Canon EOS R1 is capable of shooting 6K (6144 x 3160 pixels) video and is speculated to carry at least a 3:2 ratio 21 megapixel image sensor.
It is worth mentioning that it will use a newly designed global shutter full-frame image sensor to set Canon’s highest high-speed continuous shooting speed record, and the autofocus system is also more powerful than the EOS R5 and R6.
