After Twitter permanently blocked Trump‘s account, Gab’s founder Andrew Torba revealed Monday that Gab’s traffic surged 753 percent after Trump and many other conservatives were purged from Twitter, Facebook and other high-tech platforms.

Gab is a social networking platform that supports free speech, personal freedom and the free flow of information online. According to a report, the company successfully backed up President Trump’s entire Twitter account before it was deleted and then moved to its own site to recreate it as an invitation for Trump to land. President Trump’s new account is located at https://gab.com/realdonaldtrump.

The Gab.com site is currently experiencing an influx of traffic due to the large number of Twitter users moving from Twitter and Facebook to Gab. Gab says traffic has increased 700 percent in one day, with 600,000 new users. Gab says it is upgrading its servers to speed up its surfing and reduce its growing user congestion.

Gab is starting to become an alternative to Twitter. gab is against illegal content and incitement to violence, but allows all legal speech except for pornography. Users can create custom filters to determine what content they want to receive, and it allows users to post messages of up to 300 characters.

Google and Apple have banned the Gab and Parler apps from their App stores due to their free speech policies. And Amazon’s refusal to continue to provide a platform for Parler has dealt a heavy blow to Parler, which is looking for a new hosting provider. But Gab’s own servers are not afraid of Silicon Valley blocking, thus avoiding censorship from the big tech services companies.

Gab is also reportedly trying to innovate its own Gab phone to circumvent app store censorship and spur competition in the mobile OS market.
