McConnell pressured Senator Hawley not to challenge Jan. 6, and it went down in flames!

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) pressed Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Ky.) during a Senate Republican conference call Thursday on his vow to challenge the Jan. 6 Electoral College results, and McConnell repeatedly asked Rep. Hawley for an explanation, according to “Newsmax.

However, according to Politico reporter Alex Isenstadt, “McConnell met with silence,” and it turns out Hawley didn’t even participate in the conference call, much to the displeasure of Republican bigwigs.

Upon realizing that Hawley hadn’t even participated in the conference call, McConnell warned vulnerable 2022 Senate Republicans that the outcome of the challenge election could have a negative impact.

Isenstat tweeted.

“McConnell expressed concern that Republican senators running for re-election in 2022 would be forced to vote on a seemingly meaningless effort that would jeopardize their interests in the general or primary elections.”

Commentator Wang Dukran said Senator Hawley’s courage in defending the U.S. Constitution has forced those who have backed off to take a stand on whether to accept this general election fraud. And those senators who accepted Biden to run again 2 years later are very likely to lose this election and their political careers will be at the top.

Axios reported Thursday that McConnell said he would certify at a joint session of Congress on Jan. 6 that Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden won the 2020 election, and that it would be “the most important result he’s ever cast.

Two other sources also confirmed McConnell’s private comments, the newspaper said.

After hearing the news, Senator Hawley fired back at McConnell

Here is Senator Hawley’s full email to Senate Republicans Thursday afternoon.

“I was unable to participate in this morning’s conference call, but I know leadership has given me the opportunity to share my concerns about the upcoming joint session.

“If you’ve been talking to people at home, I’m sure you know how deeply angry and disillusioned many people are —– How frustrating it is that Congress has taken little to no action. I want to thank Ron Johnson for his comments about holding hearings on election irregularities.

“I strongly believe that Congress should conduct a full investigation and also enact a series of election integrity legislation. I intend to raise objections during the certification process on Jan. 6 to force these issues to the forefront and point out the failure of states like Pennsylvania to comply with their own election laws and the unprecedented efforts of big tech companies to interfere with this election.

“As I said in my remarks [Wednesday], our Democratic colleagues have used the certification process in recent years to raise issues of election integrity. I firmly believe that it is entirely appropriate for those of us concerned about the integrity of the last election to do the same.

“I have transcribed the full text of [Wednesday’s] statement below.

“If you have any questions, please feel free to call me.

“I wish you and your family a healthy and happy new year, Josh.”

“Jan. 6 statement.

“Following the 2004 and 2016 elections, Democrats in Congress raised objections during the certification process of electoral votes to raise concerns about the integrity of elections. When they did so, they were praised by the Democratic leadership and the media. They had the right to do so. Those of us who care about the integrity of this election now have the right to do the same.

“I cannot vote to certify the results of the Electoral College on Jan. 6 without raising the fact that some states, particularly Pennsylvania, did not follow their own state election laws. Nor can I vote to certify without pointing out the unprecedented efforts of giant corporations, including Facebook and Twitter, to interfere with this election in support of Joe Biden. At the very least, Congress should investigate allegations of voter fraud and take steps to ensure the integrity of our elections. But Congress has so far failed to act.

“For these reasons, I will follow the practice of Democratic lawmakers over the past several years and raise objections during the Jan. 6 certification process that raise these critical issues.”
