The fourth academician passed away on 28 December 2020
Zou Deci, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, academic adviser to the China Urban Planning and Design Academy and former president, died of illness at the age of 87 in Beijing at 23:28 on Dec 28, according to the official statement of the Communist Party of China (CPC).
According to public records, Zou was born in Shanghai on October 1, 1934. He graduated from Tongji University in 1955 and was elected academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering in 2003.
In December 2020, four Chinese Communist Party academicians died.
On December 15, Feng Duan, a physicist, metal and crystal materials scientist, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, academician of the Third World Academy of Sciences, first president of the Graduate School of Nanjing University and professor of The School of Physics, died in Nanjing at the age of 98.
Wang Yupu, the current head of the Communist Party of China’s emergency management department, died On December 9 at the age of 64, according to an announcement on the website of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. Wang was elected academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering in December 2007.
On Dec 1, Li Guanxing, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, died of illness in Beijing. Li Guanxing was born in Shanghai on January 14, 1940. He graduated from The Department of Engineering physics of Tsinghua University in 1962 and graduated as a postgraduate in 1966. 1982-1984 visiting scholar, Department of Metallurgical Engineering, Ohio State University, USA. He was elected academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering in 1999. He was the honorary general Manager of China National Nuclear North Nuclear Fuel Components Co., LTD., the director of the academic Committee of the Key Laboratory of Special Materials Research and Development of Nuclear Industry, the director of the academic Committee of the Key Laboratory of Reactor Materials and Fuel, and the consultant of the Science and Technology Commission of China National Nuclear Corporation.
Thirty-nine academicians a year
According to the list compiled by we media “Yanming Shi Jian”, 39 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and The Chinese Academy of Sciences have passed away so far in 2020. On average, three to four academicians die in a month:
In January 2020, jiang Hongde, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and a well-known expert on turbianmachinery and power engineering, Chi Zhiqiang, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and a famous neuropharmacologist, Fang Shouxian, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and a famous accelerator physicist, Li Fanghua, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and a famous physicist, died.
In February, member of Chinese Academy of Sciences, famous ecologist ru-yong sun, Chinese Academy of Engineering, mechanical manufacturing and automation experts Duan Zhengcheng, member of Chinese Academy of Sciences and famous pharmaceutical Zhou Tonghui, Chinese Academy of Engineering, highway engineering expert qing-lin sha, Chinese Academy of Engineering, famous agricultural engineers jiang yuan five people died.
In March, Ning Jinsheng, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, famous geodesy and educationist, Li Daozeng, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and professor of Architecture at Tsinghua University, Zhou Jun, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, famous plant resources and plant chemist, and Lu Shipi, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and orthopedic expert, died.
Yu Mingfang, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and the founder of China’s chemical fiber industry, died in April.
In May, Zhang Ganer, a famous chemist and academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Wan Shengshi, a space physicist and academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, died one after another.
In June, Chen Zhaoyuan, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, an expert on civil structural engineering and protective engineering, and Xiao Bilian, an expert on reproductive endocrinology, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, died.
In July, China academy of engineering, China satellite navigation and positioning, experts Xu Qifeng Bing-gang tong, a professor at the university of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences, virologists chenrui, member of Chinese Academy of Sciences, geography and geomorphology home li jijun, Chinese Academy of Engineering, water conservancy and hydropower engineering experts shou-ren zheng five people have died.
In August, Cao Chunan, an expert in corrosion science and electrochemistry and an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, died.

In November, Hou Feng, an expert in vegetable breeding and academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and Jin Zhanpeng, an expert on phase diagrams and thermodynamics, both of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, died.

More than 100 academicians of both houses died in three years
According to Chinese media in recent years the death of members have the statistics, among them, the member of both houses a total of 31 people died in 2018: yuan, Sun Shu, bolin hao, li, Lin Zunqi, yu-quan song, a244 and guang-ding liu, Li Chaoyi, Ma Jin, HongChaoSheng, MinNaiBen, Chen day, on the east, deng Cheng Kaijia, teaching and other 16 member of Chinese Academy of Sciences; Guan De, He Yousheng, Dai Fudong, Ai Xing, Wu Dechang, Li Zhaoping, Liu Boli, Liu Tonghua, Lin Xiangdi, Wang Mengshu, Xu Delong, Li Lianda, Hou Fusheng, Xie Shilin, Peng Sixun and other 15 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering.
A total of 33 academicians from the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) died in 2019, including yu Min, Liang Jingkui, Jin Guozhang, Wang Yining, Shen Ziyin, Tang Dingyuan, Kong Xiangfu, Li Jisheng, Cha Quanxing, Zhuo Renxi, Lu Yonggen, Chen Jiyong, Zhang Zong, Wang Buxuan, Zhang Siying, Zeng Rongsheng, Chen Xingbi, Lu Shixin and Tian Bo. Tu MingJing, chang-qing gao, RuanXue elm, bicycles, bai-sheng rong, li, NingBin, zhong-liang sun, JiGuoBiao, lee 玶, Korea as, ya-mei hu, Meng Zhizhong, zong-hu Lin 14 Chinese Academy of Engineering.
With the death of 39 academicians so far in 2020, 103 academicians from both the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Sciences have died in the past three years.
