Senator Hawley promises: will oppose election certification on January 6

Senator Josh Hawley revealed that he will file an objection to the January 6 certification of the Electoral College results.

Hawley noted that his decision is a response to “an unprecedented effort by mega-corporations, including Facebook and Twitter, to interfere with this election in support of Joe Biden” and to “allegations of voter fraud.”

He emphasized that “Democrats in Congress have raised objections during electoral vote certification after both the 2004 and 2016 elections.”

“For these reasons, I will follow the practice of Democratic members of Congress in past years and raise objections during the January 6 certification process that raise these critical issues,” his statement concluded.

“Millions of voters who are concerned about the integrity of elections deserve to be heard. I will be raising objections on their behalf on Jan. 6.” Senator Hawley said.
