Chinese government officials said Wednesday that amid the accelerated spread of the global epidemic, multiple points of local epidemic distribution and even localized clusters of epidemics in China will become the norm.
China’s National health Commission on Wednesday issued a notice on epidemic prevention during the New Year’s Day and Spring Festival, advocating that family gatherings be limited to less than 10 people, guiding migrant workers to stay at their work sites for the New Year if conditions allow, and strictly controlling mass activities and the movement of people such as holiday prayers, temple and lantern fairs. The notice also states that the authorities will vaccinate people at high risk of infection and those in key positions that keep the city running.
Recently, local cases of Neocrown Pneumonia (CCP virus) have been emerging in many parts of China, sparking public concern. On Tuesday, a total of 24 new confirmed cases of New Coronavirus pneumonia were reported nationwide, seven of which were indigenous cases. In addition to Liaoning and Beijing, the city of Heihe in Heilongjiang Province recently reported a homegrown outbreak.
