December 29, according to foreign media reports, Asmac is currently the world’s only manufacturer of extreme ultraviolet lithography, after the launch of TWINSCAN NXE:3400B and NXE:3400C, two extreme ultraviolet lithography, they are also developing more advanced and more efficient extreme ultraviolet lithography.
Asmac Extreme Ultraviolet Lithography
In the third quarter earnings report released on October 14, Asmac disclosed that their new generation of extreme ultraviolet lithography machine, TWINSCAN NXE:3600D, is scheduled to start shipping in the middle of next year, with an 18% increase in production efficiency compared to the current product.
And from the foreign media reports, in addition to NXE:3600D, Asmac is also developing a high numerical aperture extreme ultraviolet lithography NXE:5000 series, and the design has been basically completed.
In the report, the foreign media also said that although the design of Asmac NXE:5000 high numerical aperture extreme ultraviolet lithography has been basically completed, but the commercialization still needs time, and is expected to start commercialization in 2022.
As a high numerical aperture extreme ultraviolet lithography, NXE:5000 series of numerical aperture, will increase to 0.55, Asmac has launched TWINSCAN NXE:3400B and NXE:3400C two extreme ultraviolet lithography, the numerical aperture of 0.33.
It is worth noting that news about Asmac’s high numerical aperture extreme ultraviolet lithography also appeared earlier in the month.
At the beginning of the month, it was reported that CEO Peter Vinik and other Asmac executives visited Samsung Electronics and toured Samsung Electronics’ semiconductor factory, and the media said that Samsung wanted more Asmac lithography machines and high numerical aperture lithography machines ahead of TSMC.
