A young male Muslim in the northeastern French city of Belfort, suspected of being the son of a police officer as well as publicly celebrating Christmas, was attacked recently. Three people turned themselves in over the past weekend, two of whom were still in custody as of Sunday night (27th).
The report said that the 20-year-old youth victim has converted to Islam, but a few days ago on social networks to distribute photos of Christmas dinner, and then received a threatening message from a man. When he was asked to meet with the other man, he found five people present and was beaten by them and warned not to call the police.
The victim later called the police, and some of those involved went to Belfort Police Station on Saturday (26) and Sunday to turn themselves in for questioning. One of the men who sent the threatening messages was temporarily released, and he reportedly met with the victim youth in school and soccer club.
