In the face of international isolation, a kind of “war wolf” in the CCP’s diplomatic system has frequently caused trouble and made the CCP’s already notorious diplomatic image even worse, represented by CCP Foreign Ministry spokespersons Zhao Lijian and Hua Chunying, CCP ambassadors Liu Xiaoming and Lu Shanno, and others, as well as Hu Xijin and Jin Canrong are two others. This article is a compilation of the eight wolves who have been active in the CCP’s “war of words” in the past year.

Chinese Communist Party’s Ambassador to France – Lu Shayo
In 2019, Lu Shayo moved from being the CCP’s ambassador to Canada to being the ambassador to France, and has been a war wolf in both countries.
On April 14, 2020, France summoned CCP Ambassador to France Lu Shayo. In a statement, French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian said, “Certain public comments by representatives of the Chinese (CCP) Embassy in France are incompatible with the relations between France and China.”
It turns out that a posting on the website of the Chinese Communist Embassy in France stated that “French nursing home caregivers have gone AWOL and fled en masse, causing the elderly to die of starvation and illness in droves.”
On January 9, 2019, Lu Shano published an op-ed in Canada’s The Hill Times titled “Don’t let arrogance and prejudice blind your eyes and soul,” talking about the illegal arrest of two Canadian citizens in China and questioning the Canadian side’s arrest of Meng Wanzhou, claiming that “the rule of law is nothing but a tool for their political purposes …… is a mockery and trampling on the rule of law.
He also claimed that if Canada rejects huawei on the grounds of national security, it will bear the consequences. His words sparked condemnation from both the North and the South in Canada. Lu Shano was later transferred out of Canada, which should be directly related to his war-wolf approach, but when he arrived in France, he made the same waves.
A War Wolf More Active than the CCP Foreign Ministry – Hu Xijin
In addition to the war wolves from the diplomatic system, there are two others who are not in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs but play a “more active role than ever”, the most prominent of which is Hu Xijin, editor-in-chief of the Global Times, the mouthpiece of the Communist Party.
While the wolves of the Chinese Foreign Ministry are considered to be passive, Hu Xijin hardly misses any issue, often taking the initiative, and is jokingly called “Hu Gripper” and “the clown who catches the Frisbee.
In 2019, during Hong Kong’s anti-China campaign, Hu Xijin repeatedly requested that the Hong Kong police be authorized to “fire live bullets directly at rioters who are firing bows and arrows at police officers”, and that “police officers will not be held legally responsible” for any deaths caused. His inhumane statement has sparked strong questions from all walks of life.
On May 8, when the Chinese Communist Party was internationally held accountable for concealing the epidemic, leading to escalating conflicts between the U.S. and China, Hu Xijin mouthed the rhetoric that “China needs to expand the number of nuclear warheads to a thousand in a relatively short period of time, including at least 100 Dongfeng-41 strategic missiles,” and “to have a larger nuclear arsenal to curb U.S. strategic ambitions and impulses against China.” Once again, his dehumanizing screed drew a chorus of curses. Even Hua Chunying, in response to a question, said she could ask Hu Xijin himself.
On Oct. 2, the U.S. banned immigration of Communist Party members. Hu Xijin tweeted, “The US decision helps keep more talented people inside China because it shatters their illusions, which is not a bad thing. More importantly, people who are not members of China’s Communist Party are much less interested in immigrating to the U.S. today.” Some netizens said that this is a major leak of secrets, that is, almost all of those who immigrate to the United States are members of the Communist Party, and that non-party members have little ability to leave the country. Another netizen said, “I always thought the fantasy of Communist Party members was a communist society, and when Hu Xijin said so, I realized that the fantasy of Communist Party members is to immigrate to the United States.”
On November 23, Beijing announced a minimum wage of only 2,200 yuan per month, and Hu Xijin posted an article asking people “not to compare themselves with the rich”, which netizens called “serious nonsense” and “licking the Party’s ass”.
On December 2, Duan Jingtao, deputy editor-in-chief of the Global Times, reported to the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection that Hu Xijin had a long-term sexual relationship with Gao Ying, a female employee of the newspaper, and Zhang Nanyi, a former employee of the newspaper, and that they each had an illegitimate child for Hu Xijin.
The Chinese Communist Party’s War Wolf “Bricklayer” – Jin Canrong
Jin Canrong is currently the deputy dean of the School of International Relations and deputy director of the Center for American Studies at Renmin University of China, and is known as an expert on American issues.
During the U.S.-China trade war in 2019, this “bricklayer” said that China would definitely win, and proposed three major ways to win: first, stop exporting rare earths to the U.S. and starve U.S. high-tech enterprises; second, sell China’s $2 trillion U.S. treasury bonds to disrupt the U.S. financial market; third, knock on U.S. enterprises in China, even at the expense of use state coercive means to shut down their markets in China. Now that the Chinese Communist Party is in ruins, this “bricklayer” can continue to serve in the school, naturally because he is the kind of “bricklayer” that the Chinese Communist Party needs at the top.
On April 7, 2020, Jin Canrong said that the epidemic would lead to “a relative decline in the international influence of the United States” and that “the epidemic will still be the catalyst for a major change that has not been seen in a century”, “the core of which is the shift of the world’s industrial center of gravity from the West to China. The core is the shift of the world’s industrial center of gravity from the West to China,” and “China’s international standing is on the rise. But Xi was soon forced to propose an inner circle.
On May 12, in response to White House trade adviser Navarro’s accusation that the Chinese Communist Party’s concealment of the epidemic had led to the destruction of the U.S. economy, Jin Canrong said that if China could destroy the economy that took Trump three years to build in just 60 days, “it means it is inherently fake, a bubble.” His statement is believed to reveal the true purpose of the Chinese Communist Party’s top brass to conceal the epidemic and use it for hegemony.
On June 26, Jin Canrong said, “The U.S. military’s epidemic prevention work is also very poor, and the total number of infected people has now exceeded 10,000, and the Navy’s problem is particularly serious, which is why there has been a period of time when aircraft carriers are lying down, and even nuclear submarines have infected people inside, and overseas garrisons have suspended military operations. Within a few days, three U.S. aircraft carrier fleets converged on Philippine waters.
Jin Canrong once said, “Sending children to study in the United States is harmful to children,” but his son, Jin Junda, completed his master’s and doctoral degrees in the United States.
The existence of these war wolves actually reflects the incompetence of the Chinese Communist Party’s diplomacy, and also reflects that the Chinese Communist Party’s diplomacy is more of an internal propaganda and internal fighting need. 2021’s Chinese Communist Party’s diplomacy, I am afraid, will still go downhill, and the war wolves will not have many opportunities to perform.
