Beijing Adds Another Asymptomatic Infected Person Xishiku Catholic Church Announces Closure

Beijing, China, today added another case of Wuhan pneumonia asymptomatic infection, a Hebei-born 16-year-old who arrived in Beijing from Tianjin on the 6th to work in a restaurant in Xicheng District, doing work related to the cold chain. The Xishiku Catholic Church, also located in Xicheng District, has also announced the suspension of its opening.

According to Taiwan‘s Central News Agency on December 24, the patient, who now lives in Beijing’s Xicheng District Financial Street Street, is an employee of the Shun Tian Fu Life Hall, who entered Beijing from Tianjin on December 6 and received routine 2019 coronavirus disease (COVID-19, Wuhan pneumonia) nucleic acid testing by cold chain employees on the 22nd, was found positive the next day and was then transferred to Ditan Hospital.

It was reported that the Beijing CDC unit diagnosed the teenager as an asymptomatic infected person on the same day. Currently, an epidemiological investigation is underway, with 224 close contacts initially determined and his work and residence and other places disinfected and relevant control measures implemented.

The Catholic Diocese of Beijing Xishiku Catholic Church, also located in Xicheng District, also issued an emergency notice on the same day, announcing that its opening was suspended with immediate effect due to epidemic factors.
