The F35A, F16 and KC135 were lined up on the runway.
The U.S. Air Force recently held an exercise at Eielson Air Force Base in Alaska to test rapid combat readiness, using 32 military aircraft, including F35A stealth fighters, lined up on the runway to demonstrate combat capabilities to Russia.
The U.S. military said Monday (21) that the exercise was held last Friday (18), the 354th Fighter Wing and the 168th Air National Guard Wing deployed 18 F35As, 12 F16s and two KC135 air refueling planes, and launched an exercise called “Elephant Walk,” which means that the smallest spacing between the first and the last in the runway formation, in order to allow the most aircraft to take off in the shortest time, to test the base The exercise is called “Elephant Walk”, which is to line up the runway with the smallest distance between the first and the second, so that the largest number of military aircraft can take off in the shortest time, testing the rapid readiness of the flight unit and demonstrating air power.
The statement said the “Elephant Walk” not only tested the base’s rapid response capability, but also demonstrated the behind-the-scenes work of the base’s flight crews and U.S. forces in the Arctic region; it also mentioned that even in the face of the Communist pneumonia epidemic, extreme weather conditions and the shortest day of the year, the military still conducted the mission and exercise.
Meanwhile, the 355th Fighter Squadron became operational at Eielson Air Force Base on Friday, and is the second F35A squadron to operate at the base after the 356th Fighter Squadron, which will be equipped with a total of 54 of these fighters. Together with the F22 stealth fighters at Elmendorf Richardson Air Force Base, Alaska will be the location where the U.S. military has the most 5th generation fighters.
