Foreign media reported that Vietnam will impose tariffs ranging from 4.43 to 25.22 percent on imports from 16 Chinese steel producers, according to a decision by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, which said it was intended as an “anti-dumping” measure.
According to the decision on the ministry’s website, from Dec. 28, Vietnam will impose the tariffs on some cold-rolled steel imports from China for five years, noting that the dumped steel imports could cause significant damage to Vietnam’s steel industry.
In addition, Malaysia will also impose anti-dumping duties on some steel products from China, South Korea and Vietnam.
