Mexico will receive the first shipment of Pfizer’s 2019 coronavirus disease (COVID-19) vaccine tomorrow, with vaccination operations set to begin on the 24th, Deputy health Minister Ramirez said today.
Mexico’s Federal Commission for the Protection of Health Security (Cofepris) 11 emergency authorization for the COVID-19 vaccine, jointly developed by U.S. pharmaceutical company Pfizer Inc and Germany’s BioNTech.
The first Pfizer vaccine will be delivered tomorrow,” tweeted Hugo Lopez-Gatell Ramirez.
Ramirez added, “There will likely be media opportunities at that time, after which we will escort the vaccine until it is available to the general public on Dec. 24.
