Chinese Communist Party officials want 50 million people to be vaccinated with domestic vaccines before the traditional Chinese New Year.
Recently, netizens disclosed that the epidemic prevention and control command in Zhenjiang City, Jiangsu Province, issued an “Emergency Notice on the Supplementary Mapping of Vaccination against the New Coronavirus for Key People” to mapping the local CCP officials for vaccination, and the result was that none of them signed up. Netizens jokingly said, “It’s better to know one’s own people and not even play for free.”
This mapping was conducted on December 18. According to the notice, the vaccination is in accordance with the principle of “informed consent, free vaccination, should receive as much as possible”. However, the response was 100% refusal.
On Nov. 25, Shanghai officials mapped out the information of “fever clinics, high-risk staff engaged in laboratory testing, sampling and imaging related to the new crown” in municipal hospitals who might be exposed to the infection and registered those willing to be vaccinated. According to the notice, the vaccine is not yet available to the public, and the hospital will bear the cost of vaccination. But the result of the mapping was that the refusal rate was as high as 90.8%.
On December 16, Shanghai Fosun Pharmaceutical Group issued a statement saying that China will purchase no less than 100 million German vaccines in 2021. Netizens teased that the 100 million German vaccines are for the Zhao family.
