Trump Appoints 1776 Commission to Counter New York Times’ 1619 Project to Blacken America

President Trump on Friday (Dec. 19) officially announced the 1776 Commission, which will focus on promoting patriotic education and educating America’s children about American history and principles to counter the New York Times Magazine’s 1619 Project.

The 18-member commission also includes Charlie Kirk, a conservative activist and founder of the nonprofit Turning Point USA, and Mississippi Gov. Phil Bryant.

The White House issued a statement Friday saying, “Today (Dec. 18), the president is pleased to welcome these great Americans he intends to appoint to the 1776 Commission. As our nation enters the 250th anniversary of our glorious independence, many of America’s schoolchildren are tragically being taught to hate our founding, to hate our history and to hate our country.”

The statement said, “This must stop. 1776 Committee will help ensure that every American child knows that they live in the greatest and most honored nation in the history of the world. That’s why it is absolutely critical to teach America’s youth all the inspiring and unifying historical facts of our nation’s history. We want our children to become patriots who love their country.”

“The 1776 Commission will share our nation’s amazing founding story, proclaim the self-evident truths of the Declaration of Independence, and explain how these founding principles have helped our people overcome great national challenges throughout our history and how they have guided us toward a great American future. All Americans should pay close attention to this work.”

Listening to FBI Briefing, McCarthy: Fornicating Commie Lawmakers Shouldn’t Leave Mercy Committee; Wang Dukran Comments

At the insistence of Republicans, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) finally briefed bipartisan congressional leaders on Friday (Dec. 18), after two consecutive cancellations, on the relationship between California Democratic Rep. Eric Swalwell (D) and a female Communist spy.

U.S. House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) told reporters Friday (Dec. 18) after being briefed by the FBI that Swalwell should not remain on the House Intelligence Committee.

I can’t talk about the inside of the briefing, which raised more questions this time,” McCarthy said. But fundamentally (the briefing) answered one thing: He shouldn’t stay on the Intelligence Committee.”

McCarthy also said the Chinese Communist Party is an adversary that takes “many shapes and many forms.”

McCarthy tweeted again after the briefing that Swalwell should not stay on the House Intelligence Committee.

McCarthy revealed Wednesday (16) that his request for an FBI briefing on Swalwell’s ties to a female Communist spy had been unsuccessful on two occasions, with the FBI asking to cancel the briefing each time.

Friday was the third FBI briefing scheduled by Congress.
